The Best Fashion from GIRLBOSS

I've been binge watching the first season of GIRLBOSS on Netflix, and have been obsessed with the style of the main character Sophia Marlowe (based off NastyGal founder Sophia Amoruso). She screams cool and wears killer thrifted outfits all while building her online empire. Here are some of her best looks.

The usual casual day sweatshirt and jeans uniform is updated with a vintage Gucci sweatshirt and a heavy dose of jewelry. The layering of bracelets, necklaces, and rings adds a degree of interest to a staple outfit.

Recipe: Golden Milk

Golden milk (aka turmeric lattes) have been everywhere lately! Promising benefits such as anti-inflammatory effects, antioxidents, and lowering the risk of brain and heart problems, it's no wonder people everywhere are drinking this magical drink. I've hopped on the bandwagon myself and thought I'd share my recipe with you! While I don't know if I've experienced any of these benefits, I think that turmeric and curcumin can be wonderful additions to a healthy diet and wellness practice.

What I'm Reading: April 2017

One of my New Year Resolutions for 2017 is to read more books. Back in January I wrote a post with a list of 17 books I'd like to finish before the year ends, and every month this year I've done a post sharing the books I'm reading that month. I'm not going to lie, March was a slow month for me in terms of reading. I didn't finish the amount of books I would have liked to, so this month's post is going to look similar to last month's.

Shows I'm Currently Watching (Spring 2017)

Back in January I wrote a "Shows I'm Currently Watching (Winter 2016)" post. Now that it's spring and the shows have changed for the new season, I thought I'd write a revised post with a list of the shows I'm currently watching. Instead of the list layout of the last post, I thought I'd list them by days that they air to keep it a little more organized.

How I Spend an Hour in the Gym

This semester I've been a lot better about going to the gym at least twice a week. I don't have a lot of free time, but prioritizing my health is super important to me and I can definitely squeeze 2 hours of exercise into the 168 hours in my week. Here's a breakdown of an hour in the gym for me!

Spring Shoes!

I love writing these fashion wishlist type posts because it lets me window shop online! I thought that I'd share some shoes I've been looking at lately because I am desperate to put my snow boots away! Here are nine spring shoes to update your wardrobe! This widget is shopable, so click on an image for brand/pricing/all that good stuff.

The first row is just random shoes that I like. I wear shoes like the coral slip on shoes all the time because they are comfortable and cute, and I love how it's a fun springtime color. I also love block heels and the perforations in the second and color of the third are to die for!

The second row are wedges. I love wedges for the spring and summertime because they pair so well with florals and dresses! The woven one is a little different, but I think that it is a statement accessory in itself despite being a neutral color.
The last row are mules. I don't own any, but this might be my next big shoe purchase because they can be dressed up and down. I love the first one as an everyday shoe because it looks masculine and very workplace appropriate, but the open back makes it a little more fun. The second and third are more fun withe the perforations and rose color, but still look like they'd be extremely comfortable for walking around!

Let me know in the comments what types of shoes you're loving for the springtime and if you have any posts you'd like to see on the blog!

Spring Clean Your Online Clutter

When most people think of "spring cleaning," they think of physically cleaning their home and organizing closets and pantries. While all of that is great, and things that we should do, today we're focusing on a messier aspect of our lives: our online selves. Here are quick and easy ways to spring clean your online clutter.

10 Phone Apps I Can't Live Without

If you run into me in real life, chances are my phone is either in my hand or back pocket. I thought it would be a fun idea to go through my phone and pick out my ten most used apps and share it with you! I have a lot of apps on my phone, but these are the OGs. I'd love to hear what your top ten (or five) apps are, so let me know in the comments! In no particular order...

1) Messages
This is a no brainer for me! I tend to not call people, and texting is by far the most important form of communication for me.

2) Facetime
I live in a different state than my family, so Facetime is an essential for me. I tend to use facetime at least four times a week, but there are times when I use it daily if not more!

3) Mail
I have SO MANY email accounts (and I really don't know why) and I love the mail app because it lets me see all of the unread messages from all my accounts at once.

4) Snapchat
I don't post on Snapchat much at all, but I use it to keep tabs on my friends (especially the ones that live far away and I don't talk to frequently). I also added pretty much everyone in my high school class on snapchat, so there's always fun stories to watch!

5) News
I went over all the reasons I love the News app in this post, but the condensed version is that I love reading what I'm interested in and having it in a feed is amazing!

6) iHeart Radio
I switch the music apps that I use frequently, but lately it's been iHeart Radio. I love listening to some of my favorite stations from back home (Star 101.9 and 93.9 the Beat are two of my favorites) and the ads on iHeart Radio tend to annoy me less than those on Pandora or Spotify (but that's a personal preference).

7) Nest
Now this is going to sound a little creepy (don't judge me!) But back home we have four cameras set up around the house. Using the Nest camera I can check to see if anyone's home, which is really convenient when I want to see if my family is home or not.

8) T-Mobile Tuesdays
Probably one of my favorite apps! They have such great deals on there (the $2 movies is one of my favorites) and I've gotten so many magazine subscriptions on there for free!

9) Eve
This is the period tracker that I use. I used to use P Tracker lite, but I like this one more because it has a nicer user interface. It works and is pretty accurate and I like being able to record simple health things on my phone.

10) Lyft
I like Lyft more than Uber. I think the business practices of Lyft are a lot better and I have had better drivers with Lyft. Lyft also gives out a lot more deals and discounts, which I totally appreciate.

There are so many more apps that I use, but don't have listed here (such as Instagram, Safari, Netflix/Hulu/BravoNow). These ten apps are my ride or dies and if I had to go through the rest of my life using only these apps, I think I could do it (but I would be very unhappy). Let me know what your favorite apps are in the comments below!
