MAC Cosmetics Irresistibly Charming Online First Impressions

Hi guys!
We're starting to approach the holiday shopping season for most of us, unless you've already started in which case you're already ahead of the game! I thought that it might be fun this year to start doing online impressions of the holiday sets that companies release. Let's be clear, I don't have any of these things and these are just my thoughts based on what I see online! Today we're covering the Irresistibly Charming collection from MAC, which was just released for holiday 2015. The collages are shopable, so click on an image if you'd like to purchase!

Irresistibly Charming Lipglass
This set was released in three different shades. Pink, violet, and nude. Each set comes with three cremesheen glasses and one dazzle glass and retails for $35. I think that the sets were really nicely curated and the colors look like they go together nicely, but personally I'm not a huge fan of MAC lipglasses and I know a lot of people who feel the same. The price comes out to $8.75 per lipglass, which while decent, still seems too high when there are full sized lip glosses in drugstores that cost less and have better formulas.

Final Thoughts? Pass

Irresistibly Charming Pigments and Glitter
Once again, there are three different color combos for this: gold, purple, and blue. These also retail for $35. In each set, there are three pigments and one glitter. I am not a huge loose pigment or glitter user personally because I find them too messy to use on a regular basis. With that said, if you or someone you know does use pigments and/or glitter regularly, this is a good set. The pigments that MAC sells full sized are $10 each and in this kit each item ends up being $8.75. If you are in love with all of the colors in a kit, this ends up being a better deal although if you're not, then it might be worth it to just buy the shades that you enjoy. But that blue set is absolutely stunning and would be a hell of a gift!

Final Thoughts? It depends on the person

Irresistibly Charming Patentpolish
This is the last of the irresistibly charming kits and as you can probably already guess, retails for $35. This comes in two different shades nude and pink, but the pink one is only being sold online. I have not personally tried out the Patentpolish formula before, but from what I've heard from other bloggers it's pretty good except that the tip is blunt so it's hard to be precise. Shade-wise, it seems like a lot to have four nudes or four pinks. Maybe it's just me, but the pinks especially all look pretty similar. The nudes seem like a better deal because you get a more diverse selection, but to each their own. I like these sets more than I like the lipglass ones, but I don't particularly want to buy these at the same time.

Final Thoughts? Meh.

Honestly, this was kind of underwhelming to me. Every year for at least the past few years MAC has done the same type of holiday sets and I'm just waiting for them to switch it up. I have never been a fan of the lipglass sets and this year is no different. I do like the shade selections of the pigments this year (especially that blue!), but I understand that pigments are too much work for the majority of people. And for the patentpolishes, I don't really have an opinion because I have never personally tried it out. If you're interested in that, I'd suggest swatching it at a MAC store so you can see if the colors are distinct or all look the same.

Let me know in the comments what other brands/sets you'd like to see me do online first impressions for! Also, don't forget to follow me on bloglovin because I'm planning a large holiday giveaway this year!
