Kylie Jenner's Money Hungry!

Hey guys!
So I'm sure that most of you already know that Kylie Jenner's "beauty blog" and app launched yesterday. It's sort of a subscription service where, for $2.99 a month you get access to all of her content. Actually, I'm pretty sure all the Kardashian/Jenners have apps, but we're focusing on Kylie here! I'm not going to tell you to get it or not get it, but I wanted to share some of my opinions about it here.

First off, what a rip off! There are so many celebrities that have youtube channels where they post content for their fans FOR FREE! Think Klossy or Shay Mitchell. There are also celebrities that have their own websites that you can access FOR FREE! Think Ashely Tisdale's Haute Mess or Lauren Conrad to name a few. She's charging for what other celebrities already offer for free, and it's not like she even needs the money! I'm sure she could survive on what she's already making without this. I do think that it's worth mentioning that some of her content is free, but anything worth reading is locked.

Secondly, her content's not unique! It would be one thing if her makeup tutorials were actually her doing her own makeup, but it's not. It's her makeup artist walking you through it, using really expensive products. If you go on youtube, you can find billions of makeup tutorials done by extremely talented individuals that use the exact same techniques. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the videos anyway because I much prefer the home production, real and authentic aspect of youtube vids!

The last thing that bothers me is that she says that she's posting all this content for "her fans". That's an obvious lie! If she really was, she'd be doing what everyone else does and answering questions on tumblr or doing q and a youtube videos. She's obviously trying to capitalize on her fame, which is smart of her, but it bothers me when there's obviously ulterior motives.

I don't hate Kylie Jenner, I'm just disappointed. I guess I thought that she'd be different, that she'd care a little more about her fans and she'd try to put out a quality *free* website. Let me know if you're already subscribed to Kylie's site, if you're going to subscribe, or if you're like me and sitting this one out!

I read that the only one left without an app is Kourtney. Yes, they're money hungry. I've been hugely disappointed in pretty much everything they've put out. I guess her "fans" will pay but I certainly won't. All I know is that they owe a HUGE debt to Kim for making the sex tape. lol They've all become super rich from the original exposure.

  2. I totally agree! If you're paying for an app, you should be getting quality stuff, but you can find better things on youtube for free. I wish she'd just put out her website for free and make money off affiliate linking or advertising instead. At least that way it's not costing her fans anything...

  3. This is stupid she definitely is money hungry!! As if she doesn't have enough money already!!!!!!!! People should not fall into this trap !

  4. I know! and if you buy all four of the apps/content (kylie, kendall, khloe, and kim) it's over $140 a year, which is crazy! it's just sad because there is better content out there, and better things for people to spend money on!

  5. I feel the same way as you. It defiantly feels like they can never get enough money... They already have so much. I wonder when it will be enough?

  6. yeah! and after a certain point, I think that the amount of money you have doesn't matter as much. it's more about experiences and relationships than materialistic things!

  7. I read a post earlier today about the Kardashian/Jenner apps and it said that Kylie's was by far the most successful out of everyone's. I think it's kind of ridiculous to make people pay a monthly fee to access stuff certain stuff. I guess if you're a huge fan of Kylie/want to invest a lot of your time (and money) in her, then that's great. Lol, personally I think it's a waste of time and money. Crazy to see what these girls think of next!

  8. I read that they're going to make over $32 million from their apps! Their popularity is just mind blowing to me!
