Did I Complete My Summer Bucket List?

Hi guys!
I was totally not planning on doing this post, but I saw my friend Julie did a similar post on her blog, and I thought it would be fun to do here too! If you want to see her post, click here!

I'm pretty proud to say that I did most of these! Here's what I got to do...

A video posted by SIENNA 🙈 (@miss_sienna) on

Host a Dinner Party

I didn't get a chance to host as many parties as I would have liked over the summer (I love being the hostest!), but I was able to throw one of my friends a surprise grad party, which was super great!
P.S. if you wanna see how I did it, watch this video!

Go To the Beach!

Didn't get to do this nearly as much as I would have liked, but I went a couple times with my friends, and I hung out by the pool every day when I was in San Diego!

Amusement Parks!I actually got to go to Universal Studios, Disneyland, and California Adventure over the summer, which was incredible! I had the best time there with my family, and if you want to see all of our adventures during the Cali trip, watch this video!

Read a Ton!
I didn't read as much as I would have liked to either. I did re-read Paper Towns and the Divergent series, and I read a ton of magazines and articles, but I never got around to reading On The Road again, so that's definitely on my list for Christmastime!

I slept a lot, which was really good. Overall, I think that the summer was probably the chillest in a while because it gave me a lot of time by myself to relax, unwind, and really figure out who I am as a person (as cheesy as that sounds) :)

I didn't get around to going on a hike, which was probably for the better because one of my friends got really injured hiking in the mountains. And I didn't get to see a sunrise either during the summer, but I saw one a couple weeks ago when I woke up early for the Great Reno Balloon Race (see my post about it here!)

I am so excited for fall and I can't wait to actually see the leaves change (because they don't do that in Hawaii!), wear warmer clothing, and have pumpkin spice everything! If you made a bucket list as a part of my stylish summer challenge, I would love if you did a similar post like this or just told me what you accomplished in the comments!

What I Eat in a Day!

Today's video is a What I Eat in a Day College Edition! I am obsessed with What I Eat videos especially Essena's and Bonny's and I decided to do one of my own today! Just some things before we get started, I am lactose intolerant so I try to stay away from dairy as much as possible (but I have lactase I can take if I want ice cream or something), I also try to cut out meat and animal products whenever possible, but I am not a strict vegetarian or vegan! I also have a meal plan so I'm kind of at the mercy of whatever food is in the cafeteria when I want to eat! Okay, now let's get started!

If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel! Also, I have three videos ready to go, so I'm going to try get back to a two videos a week format!

How To Beat Procrastination! My Tips and Tricks

Hi guys!
I wanted to do this post because I know a lot of us have already started school and are getting back into the swing of things. Procrastination is something that we all hate, but end up doing anyway. Here are my tips to help you be a little more organized, productive, and procrastination free!

1) Hold Yourself Accountable
This is going to be a little bit different for everyone, but find a way to hold yourself accountable. For me, I like to write what I need to accomplish in my planner so I can constantly look at it and force myself to do what's on my list. If you don't think that'll work with you, try telling a friend what you need to do, so they can hold you accountable when you start to slip.

2) Spend Your Time Wisely
In my dorm room, I'm always the first one to go to sleep and the first one to rise. I am a morning person and I know that I'm not productive after 10pm, so I don't try to push myself at night. I think that being aware of yourself and knowing when you function best is super important, and if you can spend your most awake hours doing homework, you'll be that much better!

3) Minimize Distractions
I'm one of those people that can sit at a desk with my computer and phone near me and be perfectly fine doing homework. Not everyone is like that, though, and if you're one of those people that are going to be tempted by your phone or computer, try to go to a separate area without them. Sometimes when I'm reading and taking notes, I'll just take my book and notepad into the hallway so I'm completely present. Sure I look like a weirdo, but it's definitely worth it!

4) Schedule!
This isn't a tip that I personally use, but I know that it's something that a lot of people use, so it was worth mentioning. You can try scheduling times when you're going to do homework in the calendar app on your phone, so it'll alarm you when it's time for you to do stuff!

5) Use a Timer!
Sometimes procrastination happens because you've started something, but it's boring or mentally draining and you want to do something else. This is where a timer is insanely helpful! You can set it for 25 minutes and then set another one for a 5 minute break when the first one goes off. This is a tip I use a lot when studying for exams or finals because it helps you remember things better!

I hope that these tips help you beat your procrastination, and if you have any tips of your own, leave them below because I'd love to read them! I'm also planning on doing a "how to blog while in college" post, so if you have any questions you'd like me to address, leave them in a comment too!

How To Facetime Like a Boss

If you're a college student living away from home for the first time, Facetime is your best friend. Most people know the drill, sit down in front of your computer or hold your phone in front of your face. LAME! Here's how you facetime like a boss!

1) Put your foot to your face
This is one of the best ways to facetime like a boss. Why? You get to show whoever you're facetiming your foot. How cool is that? You also get to freak out your roommates or whoever walks in on you when you're facetiming. There's also a pretty stretch in this position!

2) Hold your phone with your feet
The easiest way to do this is barefoot, hooking your big toes to keep it stable. Why should you hold your phone this way? It leaves your hands free to move! Gesture freely and wildly! Also, if you lift your legs closer to your face, you can get a pretty nice stretch going!

If you can't tell by now, this post is a complete joke (sort of). I actually do facetime in these positions and my roommates snapchatted it because they thought it was crazy and weird! In all honesty, these are pretty good stretches and I stand by my arguments! Let me know how you facetime like a boss in the comments below and follow me on bloglovin for more!

Dorm Room Tour!

Hey guys!
You guys have been asking for a dorm room tour for a really long time, and I finally got it up for you! Sorry that the audio's a little funky, I was filming on the iphone and it got a little distorted. Anyway, just a little information pre video, I live in a brand new building (yay!). The layout is two rooms connected with a shared bathroom (suite style) and I have two roommates! Okay, enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this video! Let me know if you'd like to see anything in more detail in another video! I was thinking about doing a food video (even though I already did a blog post about it!) and maybe a "what makeup I took to college" video as well! Also, don't forget to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe if you like my videos!

Kylie Jenner's Money Hungry!

Hey guys!
So I'm sure that most of you already know that Kylie Jenner's "beauty blog" and app launched yesterday. It's sort of a subscription service where, for $2.99 a month you get access to all of her content. Actually, I'm pretty sure all the Kardashian/Jenners have apps, but we're focusing on Kylie here! I'm not going to tell you to get it or not get it, but I wanted to share some of my opinions about it here.

First off, what a rip off! There are so many celebrities that have youtube channels where they post content for their fans FOR FREE! Think Klossy or Shay Mitchell. There are also celebrities that have their own websites that you can access FOR FREE! Think Ashely Tisdale's Haute Mess or Lauren Conrad to name a few. She's charging for what other celebrities already offer for free, and it's not like she even needs the money! I'm sure she could survive on what she's already making without this. I do think that it's worth mentioning that some of her content is free, but anything worth reading is locked.

Secondly, her content's not unique! It would be one thing if her makeup tutorials were actually her doing her own makeup, but it's not. It's her makeup artist walking you through it, using really expensive products. If you go on youtube, you can find billions of makeup tutorials done by extremely talented individuals that use the exact same techniques. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the videos anyway because I much prefer the home production, real and authentic aspect of youtube vids!

The last thing that bothers me is that she says that she's posting all this content for "her fans". That's an obvious lie! If she really was, she'd be doing what everyone else does and answering questions on tumblr or doing q and a youtube videos. She's obviously trying to capitalize on her fame, which is smart of her, but it bothers me when there's obviously ulterior motives.

I don't hate Kylie Jenner, I'm just disappointed. I guess I thought that she'd be different, that she'd care a little more about her fans and she'd try to put out a quality *free* website. Let me know if you're already subscribed to Kylie's site, if you're going to subscribe, or if you're like me and sitting this one out!

Beat the Freshman 15!

Hey guys!
The freshman 15 is one of the biggest myths out there! It is very individualistic because obviously some people might gain more than others, but I wanted to share some of my tips to beat it! I'm only a month in to college, so I will definitely do an updated one in the spring with the start of a new semester!

Active Stuff

1) Stairs!
Pretty much all of my classes are upstairs. It can be really tempting to take the elevator instead of climbing all those stairs with your backpack, but try your hardest not to! I pretty much take the stairs all the time unless I'm carrying groceries or something heavy or going to my Chem lab because that's on the fourth floor! Also, if you have a iphone or apple watch, you can track your flights climbed to help you stay motivated!

2) Walking!
My school has a huge campus, so walking has definitely kept me from packing on the pounds! I average around 8,000 steps a day without going to the gym, but depending on what classes I have, it can get up to 15,000 or more! Walking is definitely a great way to keep from gaining weight!

3) Gym!
I know the gym isn't for everyone, but by just going once or twice a week, you're doing some great things for your body! For me, personally, I like going to the gym for weights because I get pretty decent cardio running to and from classes! If you're worried about gym etiquette, or being excessively hit on, don't be! Everyone's there to get stuff done, and don't let your self consciousness keep you from that!

1) Drinks!
Drinks are one of the biggest sources of hidden calories! I don't restrict what I drink at all, but I am very aware of it! I usually refill my 16 ounce water bottle three or four times a day and have a cup of coffee and a diet coke. Make sure you stay hydrated, but also make sure that water is what you're drinking the most because it's the best for you!

2) At the Dining Hall...

  1. Do Eat Your Veggies and Fruits!
    1. I've been trying to eat vegan as much as I can because it helps me prioritize grains and vegetables, which are super important for health! It doesn't matter if I'm eating pizza or a burger I always make sure I either get a plate of salad (spinach, beet, cucumber is my fav!) or a plate of the steamed veggies of the day!
  2. Don't Go Overboard!
    1. It's really easy to be overwhelmed by the options each day and end up eating pizza or a burger. For me, I always like to start in the section with the freshly prepared foods so I can fill up most of my plate with the vegetarian dish of the day and some grain, then move towards the unhealthier stuff! If you have some time to eat, try taking a walk around to really see what looks good instead of getting into a habit of pizza and fries!
  3. Do Eat What You Want!
    1. I am very against restriction. I hate it, and I believe that you should eat whatever you want whenever you want. Don't go overboard, but if you want pizza GO FOR IT! If you want ice cream, GO FOR IT! I literally have ice cream once a day, but I eat clean besides it so it's fine!
3) Snacks!
I don't know about you, but some days I am snacking in class because I have four or more hours of straight classes! It's really important to eat consistently because it'll help your brain function best, but make sure you're eating good stuff! For me, it's usually a gogo squeeze, cheerios, or a banana! But I have also been known to bring a oreo or few to class :P

So, these are my top tips! I hope that this is useful for you, and if you're in college, leave your tips for beating the freshman 15 below! Please follow this blog on bloglovin if you aren't already to see lots more posts!

My Tips For Studying in a Dorm Room (Or Any Bedroom)

Hi guys!
I wanted to do another school related post that I think is applicable to a lot of you! I'm dorming this year, so the majority of the time I study in my room unless I'm at the library or study room in my dormatory. I wanted to share some of my tips for studying in a dorm room or a bedroom because it can be super difficult sometimes!

1) Designate a Space
I have a desk in my dorm that I use for most of my homework (unless I'm reading and lying on the floor or my bed). You want to make a space in your room that isn't your bed where you can do your homework. It should have good lighting, all your school supplies, and should force you to sit upright with good posture!

2) Don't Use Your Bed
My roommates use their bed for their homework, but one of them turned in an incomplete 84 point math assignment because she was distracted, didn't understand, and didn't end up doing it. I'm not saying that doing your homework at a desk will make you instantly smart and capable of getting all of your homework questions correct, but it will keep you more alert than when you're in your bed. Also, if you're doing your homework in bed, you're messing up your sleep signals too!

3) Noise
This is a tip that you're going to have to figure out for yourself. Some people need absolute quiet to do their homework, others can do it while listening to music. For me, I like to have a bit of background noise, but no music (which makes my dorm room perfect!) Try to figure out how much noise you need in your room to best function, and try to emulate that in your space!

4) Minimize Distractions
The same roommate that didn't finish her math homework also skypes her boyfriend every night when she's doing homework. That may work for her, but it would be hella distracting for me! Try to minimize distractions and unnecessary technology because it'll help you focus a lot better!

5) Lighting
I have a desk lamp, and my desk is at a window so I have pretty decent lighting at my desk. You want it to be bright, so you are alert, and can see everything well! Also, if you're doing homework late at night and your desk is dark, you might end up falling asleep!

I hope that this post was helpful for you! If it was, let me know in the comments below and also leave your tips below so I can read them! Don't forget to follow this blog on bloglovin for lots more!

Benefit Wishlist!

Hi guys!
It's been a little bit since the last post in my "wishlist" series (click here to see them all!) Today's post is going to be a Benefit Cosmetics wishlist because it's one of the cutest brands, but I don't have very many things from it! This is shopable, so click on an image to buy!

I really like Benefit face products, so that's a lot of my list! I have not tried Hoola, but I would really love to try it because it sounds like a cool contour powder. I also really loved the tints and watts up when I had it in sample size, and want the full sized ones! I've never tried a benefit eyeshadow, so that's high up on my list, and I've heard tons of bloggers raving about roller lash, so I gotta try that too!

I hope that my spanish wasn't too horrible in this post, and if it is feel free to correct me in the comments! I'm super rusty right now, but I'm trying to get back in to it, so forgive me if it's hard to understand the next couple of weeks!

I hope you enjoyed this video! If you did, please give it a thumbs up! I also filmed and edited my dorm room tour video today, so that'll be up sometime within the next week!

Basic Concert Etiquette

Hi guys!
Last night at my college, we had a huge concert where Skizzy Mars, Waka Flocka, and Sage the Gemini performed. It was going pretty well, but there were some people that were annoying. To help us all not be "that person", I thought I'd share some of my etiquette tips!

1) If you want to be in the front, show up early!
My group got to the center almost two hours before they started letting people into the building so we could get good spots. Nobody likes those people that push their way and try to claw their way to the front. These are the pushy people, usually the drunk people, and it literally pisses everyone off. The concert I went to was full of extremely pushy people, and it got to the point where our entire group abandoned the third row to hang in the back.

2) If it's indoors, don't smoke!
There were some people smoking weed in the arena, and it smelt so strong for the rest of the night. I think this is just kind of a common courtesy type thing, but it was worth writing down!

3) Don't pregame too hard
There were a couple people that were wasted at the concert and started to throw up everywhere. Don't be that person.

There's only three tips, but that's because these are the three biggest ones! Let me know in the comments if there's anything you would add to the list, and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin because I'm going to do a huge giveaway once we hit 500!

Some Thoughts

I know that lots of my readers don't read spanish, but today I decided to write in spanish more. There are lots of errors, but I want to be somewhat fluent in spanish and writing a bit will help me a lot. I'm going to try write a post in spanish each week, and if any of you are good at spanish, I want to know if I make mistakes! I know I'm not the best at spanish, but I want to get better!
