InstaNatural Essential Oils + How I Use Them

Hi guys!
As most of you know, InstaNatural often sends me skincare products to review on this blog or my youtube channel for you. Recently, they sent me two of their new Essential Oils to try. I got the lemon and mint one, but there's also a lavender one that I don't have.

First off, these are huge bottles (4 ounces)! They will seriously last you forever. They have a dropper, and are in a large glass bottle. The lemon one is okay. It's not my favorite scent because it has a slightly medicinal quality. The mint one is really amazing, though! I love mint in general, and when you dilute this oil, it smells really great and fresh! These cost around $20, which is amazing for the amount of product you get!

Essential oils are not for everyone, but I really love them. There are a lot of different ways that you can use them, but here are my three favorites.

1) Dry Diffusion
This means that you allow the oil to evaporate dryly. This could mean placing a few drops on a cotton ball or paper towel and leaving it in the room you want to fragrance.

2) Water
If you're planning on using it to fragrance a bathroom or somewhere with standing water, you can place a few drops in there and it'll work. You can also put a few drops in hot water to get a steam effect, or in a bath if you want to absorb some of it.

3) Topical
You can use a diluted version of this (just mix a drop with a different type of oil to dilute) as a topical treatment. You could use this for healing purposes or also for fragrance. Both work great!

Let me know in the comments if you use Essential Oils as a part of your routine and which scents you like the best! Also, you can click here to purchase the instanatural essential oils, and if you'd like to see all of my instanatural reviews, click here!

Starting a Blog: How to Run Giveaways

Hey everyone!
It's been a while since I've done a post in my Starting a Blog series, and I wanted to do a whole post on giveaways for you! I'm going to share a few of my do's and don'ts for running giveaways and I'm also going to share some tips and tricks with you! If you haven't seen other posts in this series, you can click here to get the full list!

1) Have good intentions
It's easy to think that giveaways are going to boost your blog following, and while that can be true, most times the growth spurt you receive after a giveaway goes live is short lived. Have good intentions with your giveaways and do them to give back to your readers!

2) Follow rules
Depending on your host, there may be some rules you need to abide by. For example, you can't make "liking" a video an entry on youtube or you can get suspended from your account. Be aware of the rules and regulations and even if others are breaking these rules, try to follow them!

1) Run too many!
There is such a thing as too many giveaways! You want to space them out a little bit, just to see your analytics and figure out how your demographics and other statistics change after an influx of new readers and followers.

For me, personally, I use Rafflecopter for my giveaways. It's super easy and I like how it compiles the data. If you're running it on youtube, however, you're going to need to go through everything manually, which is super time consuming, but there's no other way to do it!

As for what to giveaway? I like to giveaway things that I know people won't have. So for me, I like to giveaway a lipstick and let the winner choose the color or something like that!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and don't forget to check out my other starting a blog posts! There is a giveaway coming really soon for you guys, so subscribe to my youtube channel as it'll be going live on there later this week!

Hi guys!
I wanted to do a quick post today on Ebates. It's a site that gives you a certain percentage back on purchases that you make. I'm a huge online shopper, and it's crazy that I only started using this site recently!

So how it works: You find the store that you want to shop on and you can see how much their cash back % is. For example, Nordstrom is 6% and Sephora is 4%. Then you can click a link that redirects you to the site you want to shop to, and that's it! You'll see how much money you received in a few days depending on the store you shop at! Ebates pays quarterly, so you get 4 checks or deposits per year. You need to have more than $5.01 or the amount will roll over to the next month. With Ebates, you can either get paid through check, paypal, or you can designate it to a charity.

So far, I've used Ebates on Nordstrom and I've made $8.93 back. If you're a blogger, I'd really suggest using this because many of us spend a ton of money on giveaways and reviews, and this is a way to make some of it back!

If you want to sign up, click here! It's 100% free and it's just an awesome site! Let me know in the comments if you use ebates and how you're enjoying it so far! Also, check out my Deals and Steals page for more money saving sites!

My New Header!

Hey everyone!
As most of you probably have noticed, I have a new header on the blog! I've experimented with different types of headers in the past, but lately I've been loving the sleek and minimalistic style and this header is perfect for it! One of my blogger friends, Jenna, made this for me because she sells customized blog headers, so I thought that I'd do a mini review on her for you in case you'd like her to do your header!

So first off, Jenna only charges $15 for a header, which is incredible because making headers can be a long process and if you don't have time to do it, or don't have the right software, it's a lot easier to hire someone! Jenna contacted me through email and asked me for what I would like. I gave her a list of words that I wanted my blog to encompass (warm, sleek, bright, clean) and she made a few mock-ups for me. We tinkered with it and I changed the font and placement of the eye, and all in all we were able to get it perfected in under a day!

Jenna really is an amazing person to do your header because she is crazy detail oriented! The first one she gave me had a pink slightly off from the shade that I use for text on my blog, and without me asking, changed it and sent me a new one!

I am obsessed with my header, and if you want her to do yours you can check out her blog services page by clicking here! Let me know in the comments what you think of my new header in the comments and don't forget to show Jenna some love on her blog!

I added a new page to the header called "deals and steals!" It's going to be updated very frequently, and it includes a whole bunch of stores and websites that I love, with some deals for you all! A lot of these are affiliate links, but at the same time, by using my links you'll get a lot of free stuff! Like 2 weeks of hulu plus for free, or 2 free audible books! I'll be adding a lot more stores and links in the coming days, so keep checking back! Also, let me know if you like the new blog look? I needed something a little less busy and bit more streamlined, and it's very festive for valentine's day! :P

Valentine's Day Posts!

Hey everyone!
There's not going to be any new Valentine's Day outfit or makeup posts from me this year (I tried to film a tutorial and it just wasn't working out that well), but I have a ton of old ones that I thought I'd re-share in case you're looking for some inspiration!

Neutral Valentine's Day Makeup
A barely-there look that is perfect for daytime and lets your inner goddess shine!

Bare Eyes and Bold Lips --> (in picture)
A bolder look that lets your inner vixen shine, while keeping the eyes subtle and natural!

Copper Eyes and Peachy Lips
A different way to play with warm tones without going for the hot pinks and reds!

Valentine's Outfit of the Day!
Just a super casual outfit, perfect for a brunch, lunch, or walk in a park!

Edgy Confetti Nails!
If you're not into the delicate pinks and girly pastels, this could be a great festive nail look for you!

The Valentine's Day TAG
Not a beauty or fashion related post, but something super entertaining to read!

Go and read those posts! I know there's a lot, but I was super into doing Valentine's tutorials two years ago, so most of these posts are from then! Let me know what you're doing for Valentine's Day (I'm traveling, so I'll be on a plane all day) and also let me know what kind of makeup/outfit you'll be doing!

My Makeup Wishlist

Hey everyone!
Right now, I'm trying to purge my collection and use up what I already have because I'm going to be off to college later this year, and I can't drag a huge collection with me! But at the same time, I'm a huge makeup lover, and I've been eyeing quite a few items! I thought that I'd share them with you today in this post just in case you wanted to see what's on my wishlist!

So some things I want to try because people have been loving them! I've heard great things about MAC Face and Body from Andrew (one of my youtube besties) and I definitely want to check that out! I also want to get some eye palettes, but as you can see, all of the ones I picked are neutrals! As if I didn't already have a ton of neutral shadows in my collection! Lastly, there's some lipstick formulations I want to try! I want to get the new Nars Audacious ones, the MAC Mineralized ones, and YSL because I haven't tried any of those formulations!

Let me know in the comments what items are on your makeup wishlist! Also, don't forget to check out some of my links right below!

How to Save Money on Shoes & My Newest Pair!

Hi guys!
I wanted to share a quick tip about shoe shopping with you that can save you a boatload of money! I also wanted to share my new shoes with you because I'm in love with them! So first, let's talk about the tip!

It's shop in the kids section! It's kind of a bizarre tip, but one that actually works. I'm a size 6 in women's shoes and a size 3 in kids shoes and they both fit really well. I love shopping in the kids shoe section in Payless especially because the flats are always adorable, and usually are a lot cheaper than those in the adult section! I'd definitely check it out next time your shoe shopping because the selection of athletic shoes, boots, and flats are amazing (although if you're heel shopping, definitely go for the adult shoes)!

Now, here's the shoes I got!

They are silver, sparkly flats from the American Eagle brand at Payless. This is a part of the BOGO special, so I got it for $8! These were actually bought in the kids section (I used my own tip) and I'm so happy with them!

They are slightly gladiator style with the higher portion at the back by the heel, but the crossed straps are very ballerina and the sparkles make it very girly! I can't wait to wear these, and I feel like I'll be wearing these to work a lot!

Let me know in the comments how you save money on shoes, and don't forget to check out some of my links!

Sub for Sub?

Hey guys!
I usually like to keep my posts very upbeat and happy, but I'm going to have a little rant today...

I completely understand that it's hard to get youtube subscribers. I'm only at 84 subbies and I've been doing it consistently for 6 months. What's inexcusable, to me, is people who comment on larger youtubers and say something along the lines of...

"Any small youtubers wanna sub for sub?"

I think that it's incredibly rude, and just annoying for people to ask for sub for sub because it takes away from the actual comments that mean something, it takes away from the content that the youtuber had spent a lot of time creating, and it also is taking advantage of someone else's fame.

Also, sub for sub never really works! If you are pretty much bribing people to sub to your channel, you're obviously not putting out good enough content. It's also unsustainable because if you want to be "big" and have hundreds of thousands of subscribers, you'd have to subscribe to a crazy amount of people!

I have no respect for people who take the easy way out or who try to cheat the system, and I totally urge you other youtubers not to spam videos with "sub for sub".

So that's the end of my little rant! If, by chance, you want to subscribe to my youtube channel, click here! Also let me know in the comments if this bothers you as much as it bothers me!

Winter Hair Inspiration!

Hey everyone!
So it's now February! How crazy is that? It seems like this year is just flying by already! I know that there's only one more month left in "winter", but I thought that I'd share some winter hair inspiration with you guys incase your top knots and braids were getting a bit boring! As usual, these are all from pinterest (you can follow me by clicking here)!

I'm super into updos for the winter, as you've probably seen on my UpDo board! This one is special because of the volume in the front portion of the bun, and it makes the typical top knot a bit dressier and fancier!

This one is a more neutral and natural looking updo! I love how it's low and has some texture and volume to it! This is perfect for second or third (or fourth) day hair, and the messier the hair is, the better it looks!

This is my new favorite cut! It's a long bob, and it's perfect for everyone! It looks great straight, curled, or wavy, and I'm definitely thinking of cutting my hair like this! I also love the platinum blonde with the darker roots!

Lastly, another top knot! I love the messiness of this one (kind of like the second one), and it's really awesome because of the braid! I love how this could make the hair semi-dressy as opposed to the first one, which is more formal, and the second one, which is super casual!

So, don't forget to follow me on pinterest to see some of my favorite things! Also, leave your pinterest usernames in the comments so I can check out your boards as well! Let me know what your favorite hairstyle is in the comments too! Mines is either two or four!
