What Does it Mean to be a Driven Person?

Hey everyone!
We're going to start this post with a little story... So most days at school I spend my breaks "working" on my blog, youtube channel, or reading. On Friday, one of my friends commented that whenever he sees me on a break, I'm always on the computer doing something. He meant it as an insult, but to me it wasn't. It was one of the biggest compliments to me because I'm an incredibly driven person and it made me want to get back on my laptop and work some more.

So what does it mean to be driven?

It means you work harder. You eat, breathe, and dream about your goal and would sacrifice anything to get there. It means that you sacrifice things like a social life, television time, breaks, to study, write, plan, and execute things that you need to. Being driven means that you don't sleep until you've accomplished what you need to for that day. It means that you're accountable to yourself and that you continue to push your boundaries further. It is not easy to be driven, and I don't think you can necessarily teach yourself to be a driven person. But if you find something you love, and that you are passionate about, it comes naturally.

Take Caroline from CaliJae for instance. She is one of the few bloggers that are just as driven as I am. She pours her heart into her work, and it shows. She is consistently growing her brand. She offers services to bloggers and brands. She has a youtube channel. She does graphic design. She grows and constantly tries to diversify.

Is it easy? I bet it's not. But I bet that she never once doubts that her work will pay off. I bet that she goes to bed thinking about new ventures and avenues. Why? Because she is driven.

So, I guess I don't spend my breaks at school socializing and playing games, but that's fine by me. I'd rather read articles online (I read Entrepreneur daily), check my analytics, or write posts than socialize anyways. Why? Because that tiny sacrifice will one day make me successful.

Hey everyone!
I wanted to do a post today on a topic that I've been pondering a lot about lately. There's going to be a lot of posts like these coming soon, by the way, because I love just sitting and writing whatever's on my mind.

I think that with the emergence of social media, many people have become envious, jealous, sad, or disappointed with their lives in comparison to others. I know that with tumblr and instagram, it's so easy to see people with seemingly "perfect" lives and get down.

For me personally, I've never really been affected by this e(nvy) because I don't have time to stalk people's feeds. And I think that's a really good point! If you find something that you're intensely invested in and that makes you extraordinarily happy (for me it's blogging!), you'll feel so fulfilled in your life that you won't want what others have. Maybe that's an oversimplification, but that's the idea anyways! I think another way to get over e(nvy) is to cut back the time you're spending scrolling through your feed. For my instagram, I check it once in the morning, once mid-day (although I often skip this), and then once more before I go to bed. I stay up-to-date on all of my friends, but I don't feel overwhelmed by it all. For tumblr, I might check it once every other day or so. When you start to check it once an hour or more than five times a day, you need to limit yourself so you don't become obsessed!

Remember: Don't spend so much time wanting someone else's life, that you forget to live your own!

I read an article in a magazine (I won't name names) that told people not to brag through their posts or post things that might make other people jealous. I don't agree with this at all. Post what makes you happy, post things you like to see, and don't change that just because of someone else! If you're so happy in your life that you want to share that, I see no reason why you shouldn't.

So I'm stopping at this point because this post is getting quite long, but if you want me to expand on this subject, let me know in the comments! Also, check out my links down below if you want to keep in touch!

Beauty Tips to Help You Survive the BLIZZARD!!!

I know lots of my readers are on the East Coast, and I feel for you! The weather sounds intense and crazy, so for today's post I decided to share some beauty tips with you!

1) Layer Products
Because the air is so cold, you're going to want to layer moisturizers to make sure your skin doesn't dry out. My favorite way to do this is to use a serum, then a heavier lotion, then an eye cream. This ensures that your face stays nice and pretty during the snow.

2) Switch to "Night"
Many companies make "day" and "night" versions of skincare, and if you're someone that switches between the two, I'd suggest using the night one all the time. Usually night formulas are thicker and more hydrating, which is exactly what you need!

3) Chug the Water!
Another way to keep your skin fresh, is to drink a ton of water! Aim for half of your weight in ounces for optimal hydration!

4) Eat Fresh!
Fruits and vegetables are probably the last thing you want to be eating, but they are another great way of keeping you hydrated and glowing!

5) Swap Makeup!
Go for cream foundation formulas to further lock in the moisture! Also, try to use a cream blush, cream eyeshadow, cream highlighter, and a tinted lip balm because these "wet" formulas won't dry you out further like some powders will!

So, I hope you guys all survive the cold safely! Let me know in the comments what your blizzard beauty tips are and check out some of my links below!

Fashion OBSESSION: Kate Spade Earrings

Hey everyone!
I usually don't do fashion posts like these, but I had to today! I've been crazy about Kate Spade jewelry lately after I received a Kate Spade bangle for Christmas. I've been lusting after some of their earrings, and I thought I'd share my favorites with you here! As usual, this is shopable, so click the images to buy!

I really love her square studs as you can tell! The whole bottom row consists of these really cool dotted earrings that have a confetti like look that's super cool! I especially love the middle one in the bottom row! I also love the first dangle earrings because the color is gorgeous (royal blue is my spirit color!) and it's a great statement piece! I also love some of the more duochrome type earrings in the middle row, and the circle one in the upper right is very mature and modern looking!

Let me know which of these earrings are your favorite in the comments, and I linked all of the items to the pictures, so you can click on it to be redirected to a shop page! I hope you enjoyed this post, and also let me know if you want more of these in the future!

Bathroom Tour

Hey everyone!
I've been wanting to do a bathroom tour for a while, but my bathroom is nasty looking so I kind of put it off until now. With that being said, it's still ridiculously messy, but I figured "let's be real" and share it with you anyway! I hope you enjoy it!

If you've done a bathroom tour on your blog or youtube channel, leave me a link in the comments so I can check it out! Also, please give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it, and don't forget to subscribe to my youtube channel for new videos!

Winter Makeup Inspiration

Hey everyone!
I can't believe that it's been around four months since my last makeup inspiration post because I'm on Pinterest all the time, and these are some of my favorite posts to do! I'm going to be doing a fashion one as well, so come back in a few days for that!

This just screams winter makeup to me because during the winter, I love going for a bolder lip and barely there eyes! With that being said, I love the smudgy liner along the lower lashline and how the eyeshadow still has definition!

This is just a basic neutral eye, but I thought it was so stunning and I needed to share! This is definitely a "going out" look, but winter is the season of parties so this could be really awesome!

This is probably the most "out there" look, but I love the berry outline around the edge of the smokey eye. It adds a really cool pop of color, but I think it'd look more festive in a burgundy red shade!

I hope that you enjoyed this makeup inspiration post, and don't forget to follow me on Pinterest if you aren't already! Let me know in the comments what your favorite look of the three is (mines is definitely the first one) because I'm a little curious right now!

My Cheerleading Experience

Hey everyone!
This video actually went up on my vlog channel, and this is very much a lifestyle type of video, but I know that cheerleading and beauty goes hand in hand and I figured some of you guys might be interested in my thoughts! Just a disclaimer before you get into this, I had a pretty horrible cheerleading experience, and I ended up very injured, so this video is dark and kind of negative. Okay! With that being said, I hope you enjoy this!

You made it through that incredibly long video! Congrats! So, I hope you enjoyed this video, and if you did, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my vlog channel! Also, I have a whole "experience" playlist, that you can check out here! Let me know in the comments if you were a cheerleader, and what your cheer experience was like (hopefully it was better than mine!)

2 Year Anniversary!

Hey everyone!
It is January 15, which means that it's my blog's second anniversary! First and foremost, I just want to say thank you to all of you. I've made some amazing friends through blogging, and I've learned so much about myself through blogging, and none of this would have been possible without you! I was looking at last year's anniversary post, and I'm kind of embarrassed at how short it is, so I though I would write a little bit on all of the accomplishments and events that my blog has gone through this past year, because I'm feeling extra nostalgic.

New Adventures:
This year I've been a lot more serious with different social medias and I've expanded a ton. I began to use my twitter more frequently, set up a facebook fan page, started to use Ello, and most importantly, created my YOUTUBE CHANNEL! Youtube has been one of the most rewarding things for me, and I am so proud at what I've been able to accomplish with it. I also recently started an email mailing list, which I'm super excited for!

There are so many milestones that I've reached this year! I hit 100 and 200 followers on bloglovin, which is huge and makes me so happy! I hit 75 youtube subscribers and 650 twitter followers too! Subscribers and followers aren't super important to me, and I would definitely still do this whether there was one reader or 1,000, but knowing that people love the content I produce is an amazing feeling.

I've done so many collaborations this year! Some of my favorite ones have been the Fall Makeup one with Hope from Beauty and Bliss, the one I did for the Covergirl #GirlsCan campaign, and all of my instanatural ones! Get ready for a lot more this year too!

Random Stuff:
I started the "shop" page of the blog, which I am obsessed with! I also got a DSLR so I can take better pictures and videos (it's a Nikon D3200)! I also bought my domain, which was really exciting because it makes my blog seem more professional!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for making my second year of blogging absolutely incredible. I'm going on year three right now, and I am so excited to see how my blog, and youtube channel grows! I love you guys so much, and I can't explain how much I appreciate your support! Thank's for a great second year of blogging, and here's to an even better third year!

Reno Haul!

Hey everyone!
I wanted to do a quick haul on some of the things that I bought in Reno! I went to Forever 21, H&M, and Trader Joes and although we have Forever 21 and H&M in Hawaii, I still bought a few things from there!

Let's start with the fashion items! From H&M, I bought basics!

So the first two shirts are identical, except for the color! They are just basic tshirts that were on sale for 2 for $10! I actually don't have any shirts in those two colors, and I really wanted them, so I got it! I know that the H&M in Hawaii probably has them as well, but in Hawaii, the H&M is in Waikiki, which is super touristy and crowded (also parking is non-existent over there), so it's sometimes better for me to do my H&M shopping online or in another state!

The last item was this t-shirt! It's just a basic pocket tee with cuffed sleeves! They had this shirt in a billion colors (including the red and black), but this blue was so gorgeous and I had to get it!

Now for the stuff from Forever 21! It was actually a pajama set, but I bought it mainly for the tee because it was so cute! It's pajamas, but that t-shirt would look really cute with jeans, so I'm definitely going to wear it out of the house! The shorts are basic sleep shorts, and look really comfy!

And now for the food items from Trader Joes! We don't have a Trader Joes in Hawaii, and whenever we travel to a state with one, we always pick up a few snacks and treats to bring back!

I got myself dark chocolate covered cranberries because I am obsessed with dried cranberries and I am in love with dark chocolate, and I neeeeeeeded to have these!

Then I got the dark chocolate cookie butter cups! Cookie butter is somewhat of a fad here in Hawaii, and people are crazy obsessed with it (probably because it's pretty rare here) so I got it! I wanted to try it out, but I also wanted to give a few to some of my friends!

Speaking of friends, I also got these individually packed dark chocolate peanut butter cups for my friends! These looked really amazing and I know they're going to love it!

So that's my little Reno haul! I hope that you enjoyed this blog post even though it wasn't a super interesting haul! Let me know in the comments what kinds of snacks you like from Trader Joes because I wanna know! Also, please follow me on bloglovin if you aren't already because once I reach 500 followers I'll do a giveaway!

Anthropologie, what are you doing?

Hey everyone!
So something bizarre happened at work and I really, really wanted to share it with you guys! So here we go!

I was working on Saturday, and for those of you who don't know, I work in a small boutique in one of the malls. A couple of ladies walk in to the store, and start looking around. They're really nice and we're talking to them, and they appear to be normal customers.

But they're not.

It turns out that they are the new managers of the Anthropologie store that's opening in February. That's all fine and dandy and we figured that they were just trying to size up to competition as the store I work in and Anthropologie cater to the same audience.

I was wrong.

They were trying to poach employees from the store! They literally came around to each of us that was working that day and told us to apply for them. Then they had the audacity to give the assistant manager, who was there the whole time, a flyer to interview, and tell her to tell all the store employees to interview for them. What the hell Anthropologie! I've honestly never seen or heard of any company doing that, and it is honestly the most dirty, classless thing that I've ever seen! Who even does that? It was kind of shocking that they had the audacity to try and pull that little stunt and it just makes me sick.

So that's my little story and rant! If you work in retail, has this ever happened to you? It's just totally bizarre, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it! If you're wondering, I'm not going to interview for Anthropologie, and I think of the 13 girls that work at the store, only one is going to interview for them.

InstaNatural Vitamin C Moisturizer and Serum Review!

Hey everyone!
InstaNatural sent me even more items to review for you because they knew how much I enjoyed everything else they've previously sent me! I reviewed a few other instanatural skin products here, and some of the argan products for hair here! This time, I got the Vitamin C moisturizer and serum, so let's get into the review!

I really like this moisturizer! The consistency of moisturizer is something that I struggle with. I feel like I need a lot of hydration, but at the same time, if the moisturizer is too thick or creamy, it'll make me oily and break out. This texture is fabulous because it's light and absorbs instantly! It has some really great ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, plant stem cells, and more, so I feel like it's really nourishing my skin. It is scentless, which I enjoy, and has a pump applicator. The only downside to this moisturizer, for me, was that it leaked during shipping. The cap was on it, so I thought everything was fine, but once I opened it, I could tell that some product had escaped the packaging. Not a huge deal, and it was very minimal and contained, but something that I thought should be shared!

Overall thoughts: love this for the light feel and great hydration, but it leaked just a tad during shipping!

InstaNatural had previously sent me their Hyaluronic serum, and I think that this Vitamin C one is rather similar to that one. They both have the same feeling and texture to me. Its a lightly tacky, thicker consistency that spreads easily. This does have a dropper applicator, and you don't need much to cover your face! 4 drops is plenty for my face and neck! This one is somewhat hydrating, although you definitely still need to use moisturizer with it. It has a bizarre orange color and orange scent. The scent isn't my favorite, but it hasn't affected my skin in anyways (although if you're sensitive to scents, you might want to be aware of that).

Overall thoughts: great lightweight serum, but the scent could be a deal breaker for some.

So that's my review for you all! I hope that this was helpful for you guys, and if you decide to try out some instanatural products, let me know what you get in the comments below! Also, don't forget to follow me on bloglovin!

What I Got for Christmas!

Hey everyone!
I am on vacation as I'm writing this post (to see some pics of my vacay, click here), but I've seen a whole bunch of what I got for Christmas videos going up, and I thought I'd do the same thing, but in a blog post!

From my friends: Bracelets! Two bangles (one with a shell on it, and another with a pearl). I also got a Kate Spade bangle, which is super pretty! It's gold with a white stripe and gold dots!

From friends: Gift Cards! Victorias Secret and Sephora!

From my Grandparents: Diamond earrings! They have a white gold setting and are super cute!

From my parents: My Nikon D3200! I used it to take the pictures, but I got a camera bag, the camera body, the 18-55mm lens, and a 55-200mm lens!

From my mom: scented gel pens! These are super cute, and I love using colored pens to take notes!

From Santa: Cami Secret! haha this is a funny gift, but actually pretty useful! I'm definitely going to do a little review on this when I've tried it more!

My mom got this body shop soap as a gift, but gave it to me because she doesn't use it!

I also got this candle from my mom because someone gave it to her and she's not really a scent person!

And lastly, the background for all of these pictures, is really a super soft throw blanket that was my gift from another one of my friends! I also got some money from relatives and I'm still waiting for another present from one of my friends (I'll get it once I get back from my trip)! I hope you enjoyed this little what I got for christmas post and let me know what you got for christmas in the comments below!

Looking Back on 2014

Happy 2015 everyone!
I hope everyone's new year is off to a good start, and that everyone partied it up big on New Year's Eve! As for me, I was on a plane all of new years eve, and crashed wayyyy before midnight, but it's all good! I wanted to do this post as sort of a farewell to 2014, hello to 2015, and just a general reflection on the year. I wasn't sure the best way to organize this post, but I think I'm going to do it chronologically!

January: January was rough. I was still cheerleading, and it was nearing the end of basketball season. My shoulder was bothering me during games and I usually made the call to sit out rather than attempt to cheer. There was a lot of general cattiness within the team about my injury, mostly people who thought I was faking it, and that sucked... January also marked my 1 year blogiversary, which was super exciting!

February: February was just kind of a "there" month. The only super exciting thing was that I reached my 100 follower mark on bloglovin! That was crazy huge for me!

March: March was the month that I started to get all of my tests done. I had MRIs and xrays done on my shoulder, and I started to meet with my surgeon. This was, surprisingly, one of the better months for me because it felt great knowing exactly what was wrong with me!

April: Another "there" month.

May: I had AP exams, finals, and I finished Junior year of high school!

A photo posted by Sienna (@miss_sienna) on

June: I had my shoulder surgery, and started summer school! Shoulder surgery and the rehabilitation that followed was probably the lowest point for me during 2014 because it was a lot of work and pain, and it was physically and mentally just grueling for me. I was also in a huge ass sling for the whole month, which was just fabulous

July: Was still in summer school, still rehabbing my shoulder, just more of the same... Oh, and I was still in that darn sling.

August:  Finally ended summer school, and got out of that sling! I had my wisdom teeth taken out, which was just soooo painful, and I finished rehabilitation on my shoulder! It was also my 17th birthday, so I had a little party at my house, which was tons of fun! I also started school at the end of august, and that was super exciting because it was the start of senior year!

September: I threw myself into blogging more than ever, and reached my 200 follower mark! I started to form a different identity for myself at school because I was no longer cheerleading, and couldn't be known as "a cheerleader".

A photo posted by Sienna (@miss_sienna) on

October: I got my first job! Halloween was incredibly exciting because me and my friends dressed up as sailors! There was also a halloween party at school that was really cool! I also submitted my college apps at the end of October, which was HUGE!

November: I started hearing back from a lot of my colleges (all acceptances)! Thanksgiving was great, and so much fun, but at the end of the month, I got the stomach flu, which made me the sickest I've been in years!

A photo posted by Sienna (@miss_sienna) on

December: I heard back from even more colleges, and I went on winter break! I had an amazing Christmas, and had quite a few Christmas parties (click here to see them on my vlogmas)! On Christmas night, I left for Reno, and was there until the end of the year! Check out my instagram for more pictures of Reno!

This was one of the hardest years for me, but one of the most fulfilling! I started to feel like an actual adult, and I grew to be more independent than ever this year! 2014, you have been a roller coaster year, but you have also forced me to learn about myself, and grow in ways that I didn't know I could.

To all of you reading this, thank you for being here for me this past year! Blogging is my hobby, it's my passion, and I am so thankful that you are able to be on this journey alongside me! I consider each and every one of you as friends, and I can't wait to see whats in store for my blog, and us in 2015!
