Artistry Makeup Haul

Hey everyone!
I'm super excited to do this haul because one of my friends on Twitter, Nick, sent me a few artistry products to do reviews on and to show you guys! If you want to buy any of these products, definitely do it through his site because he is so great at customer service and is just super nice! (We had some issues with my shipping, but he took care of it all!) I'll be doing a tutorial using these on my channel very soon, but here's my little haul so you can see what I got!

This first product is the Artistry Color Quad in Light. It has three eye colors (upper left and the bottom two) and a cheek color (upper right), although you could use all of them as eyeshadows if you wanted to! This item is actually no longer available, but I'm going to assume that the formula of these eyeshadows are the same as the rest of the line, in which case that's amazing! It's so soft feeling and not powdery at all! It's also super pigmented and I can't wait to use it more!

I also got sent a mascara! I haven't tried this yet, but it seems like a mascara that I would love because the wand has a ton of bristles, and when you pull out the wand, a lot of excess product gets wiped off, which is something that I really like!

So, once again a huge thank you to Nick! Go ahead and check out his store (www.amway.com/NicholasTalaga) because Amway has amazing things and my mom has actually used some of their skincare products in the past and loved it! I'll be doing a tutorial using these products really soon, so stay tuned for that!

One Direction Liquilights Glow Gloss Kit Review

Hey everyone!
Recently, Markwins sent me three makeup by one direction kits to review for you guys, and this is the first one that I'm reviewing! There's also a mascara set and a nail varnish set that I'll review very soon! I did an unboxing on all of these, so if you want to see some swatches and my initial thoughts, click here!

So this kit comes with three different shades that I've taken pictures with on my lips! There is overlap with the lip glosses in the Looks kits, so just be aware of that, but these are super fun shades!

All of them are supposed to glow under blacklight, although I haven't tried that out myself, and all of them are highly shimmery. Like when you remove it, there will still be glitter flecks on your lips. This leaves for a slightly gritty texture, but all of them have a gorgeous finish! Now here's the individual reviews/swatches!

Through the Dark - Electric Glitter Poppy Lipgloss that Glows Red/Orange Under Blacklight

This is such a pretty shade, and it looks really great on! It's good by itself and it's also great for layering over reds and oranges!

Kiss You - Orange Glitter Rush that Glows Yellow Under Blacklight

This looks insane in the tube, but it's really great on the lips because by itself, it gives the lips a nice peachy look! It could also be great layered over a pink, coral, or orange lipstick to make it pop!

Taken - Powerhouse Glitter Pink Lipgloss that Glows Orange Under Blacklight

This is very similar to the first lipgloss and I'm not quite sure that you'd need both. This one is a bit more cool toned and it glows differently under blacklight, but when it's on the lips, they both show up similarly.

So overall I really like this set! The formula is a little funky because of the gritty feeling from the glitter, but it's not sticky, which is great! I would totally recommend getting this because for $16.50, it's a great deal! You could also split it up between three friends and that would be really cool too!

Let me know what your thoughts are on this set if you've tried it already, and you can purchase it by clicking here! Go and subscribe to this blog on bloglovin because lots of gift guides and reviews are coming your way soon!

Items Mentioned:
Urban Decay Vice 3
Valerie Joseph Bracelets

So I hope you enjoyed this video! I have a review on one of the One Direction makeup sets (the lipgloss one) coming tomorrow, and I have around 5 gift guides ready to post! 10 Things I'm Thankful for this Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
I really wanted to film a thanksgiving vlog today, but it's around 4 in the afternoon right now and it's just a tad bit late to start... But really, this morning was a ton of craziness and it would have been nuts trying to run around with my camera! So this will be my little thanksgiving post on the 10 things I'm thankful for this year...

1) Family
Family is everything to me and I'm so grateful for the family that I've been given. You all have probably seen my sister in a few of my videos (check out our sister tag here) and she's the cutest little thing in the world. I am especially thankful for my parents this year because they've been super supportive both financially and emotionally through my college application process and that's been awesome.

2) Real-Life Friends
My friends are literally the coolest people in the world and now that we're all seniors in high school everything's been super stressful and it's been amazing to have people going through the same things as me. We also have matching sunglasses, so that's pretty dang cool too :P

3) Online Friends
I have met some of the coolest people in the world through blogging and youtubing and that's pretty amazing! There are literally so many, but a few of them include Julie from The Salt Life Wife, Cali from Cali Jae, Hope from Beauty and Bliss 67, and Natalie from Yours Truly NY

4) My Health
I feel like most of you have heard that I had surgery over the summer, and while it was intense and probably the worse experience of my life, there is so much to be thankful for at the same time. This time last year, I was experiencing a ridiculous amount of discomfort and a bunch of shoulder dislocations and it's amazing not to have to go through that again.

5) Finding Something I'm Truly Passionate About
I was cheerleading for a while before I had my surgery, and although it was a ton of fun and I don't regret doing it at all, it wasn't something that I was truly passionate about. Now that I can't cheerlead anymore, I've been forced to evaluate myself and figure out what I want to spend my time doing, and blogging and youtubing has just been incredible for me.

6) Having My Blog and Channel Grow
I've reached a lot of milestones so far with my channel this past year, and it's been fantastic seeing the numbers grow and talking with a whole bunch of you! I know that lots of people have a passion, but nothing ever comes from it, and I love how I feel like I can make an impact on the world and all of you. Also, if you aren't already following me, you can follow my blog here, and subscribe to my youtube here!

7) Good Food
I'm a huge foodie and thanksgiving is seriously one of my favorite days just because of the food. I've especially loved eating lots of smoothies and acai bowls as well as cinnamon rolls and steak!

8) Finding Some Sense of Independence
I got a job around 2 months ago, and I've been feeling a lot more independent. Granted, I still don't have my drivers license, but I am starting to be more self reliant and I feel like I'm actually growing up and taking responsibility for myself. It's been really cool, especially because a lot of my classmates and friends are still so dependent on their parents for spending money and things like that.

9) Really Cool Art
I've developed a really deep appreciation for art this past year, especially after joining tumblr (you can follow me by clicking here) and ello (click here) and I've loved seeing the passion and love that other people put into their work!

10) Life
There are so many things that we take for granted, but the one that we take for granted the most, is the most important thing in the world: the gift of life. People die everyday, and I'm so thankful to be able to live, love, laugh, and learn, every single day.

So all of these pictures are actually from my instagram page, which you can follow (@miss_sienna) if you'd like! I hope that you all had an amazing thanksgiving, and let me know what you're thankful for in the comments!

Christmas Gift Guide 2014: Jewelry

Hi guys!
So this year I'm going to be doing some gift guides for you all! I think that I'm going to make them in two different formats. One will be (like this post) and on a specific item. For instance, this one is all about jewelry and I think I'll do similar ones with bags and makeup. The second format, which will be coming soon, will be on personas. So what to get the athletic girl, girly girl, bookworm girl... If you have any suggestions for gift guides let me know in the comments because I want to do TONS this year! Also, all of these will be totally shoppable, so click on the picture to be redirected to purchase!

Okay, so when I'm giving jewelry as a gift, I like to go crazy! I go for bold colors, funky patterns, and things that I know the person won't already have in their collection! Like the earrings in the middle on the first row. They are so gorgeous and unique, yet I feel like for the right girl they could be the perfect gift! I also love the fitbit bracelet (first row, third column) because it's luxurious and something someone wouldn't splurge on for themself! I also love going with bold colors so the earrings (second row, first column) and the necklace (third row, first column) are great as a statement. And textures are great too, so that whole last row is really awesome with that!

So I hope you enjoyed this post, and get ready for a ton more gift guides! The next one will be all about bags!

Here's my #GirlsCan story...

I love blogging and youtubing and it is my number one hobby and passion in life. I spend lots of hours, time, and effort on trying to make my blog and channel the best that it can be. There is a lot of hate within the communities (not so much the blogging one, but the youtube one definitely) and there are people that don't understand what I do and almost come off as disapproving. I strongly believe that everyone can achieve their dreams, especially because many people are entrepreneurs nowadays, and I think that everyone can try hard and succeed!

Let me know what your GirlsCan story is in the comments below, and don't forget to enter the giveaway!

Should Bloggers Use Ello?

Hey guys!
So I know a few months ago, Ello got a lot of press because it was the first social media that allowed optional tracking and no ads. It was said to be the "anti-facebook". I got an invite to join today (yes, it's invite only right now) and I thought I'd do a little post on it! But before I get into that, go ahead and follow me here if you have an account, or if you'd like an invite, leave a comment and I'll invite you!

So, do I think bloggers should use Ello?
...Well I think that Ello could be really useful because it seems to me to be part tumblr, part twitter, part google +, and part facebook. You have the picture sharing that tumblr and facebook would give, you can categorize your friends like google plus, and you "follow" people like you would on twitter. The majority of people on the discover page seems to be artists or photographers, so I think bloggers could do really well on the site! I also know that it's growing in popularity (it already has over 1,000,000 users) and it's only going to get bigger.

The problem, though, is that there aren't that many users compared to twitter, facebook, or instagram, so if you're trying to reach a large audience, it might not be the best site for you!

Overall I'd say that if you have time to manage another social media site, go ahead and use Ello, but if you don't, then stick to the bigger ones with more users!

Don't forget to follow me on Ello (@misssienna) and let me know in the comments if you use ello and what your thoughts on it are!

Starting a Blog Part 8: To Disqus or Not Disqus

Hi guys!
This is going to be the 8th post in my starting a blog series, and it's going to be more specific than some of my previous posts. I was in a blogger chat on twitter around a month ago and people were wondering about the pros and cons of disqus. For all of you that don't know, disqus is a widget that you can use to replace the normal blogger comment system and it's what I use on my blog!

Pros:

  • The interface is a lot nicer
    • I really enjoy the way that disqus looks because it's a lot cleaner looking than the normal blogger comments
  • You can generate revenue
    • Disqus has an optional setup where you can display ads at the bottom of your post or you can display some of your other posts. I use both!
  • It's easier for people who want to comment
    • People can choose whether or not they sign in, and they have the option of signing in with a disqus account, twitter, google plus and more!
  • Installation is super easy!
    • I swear, it won't take you more than 10 minutes to do!
  • Moderation
    • You can choose what you want to moderate. There are options to moderate comments with links, all comments, anonymous comments, or no comments!
  • Analytics!
    • You can get analytics for your site including the amount of upvotes your comments get and the number of comments
Cons:

  • The ads are bleh
    • the titles of the ads are okay, but some of the thumbnails are horrid! I'd definitely recommend just using links if you're going to advertise with it!
  • It takes a while to load
    • It is from a separate site, so loading can be somewhat of an issue...
  • It might not match your site well
    • I know on blogger you can choose the font for your comment section. On disqus you have a few choices, but not nearly as many as you would through blogger!
Overall, I love disqus! I use it on this blog, my lifestyle blog, and my sister's blog, and I wouldn't think about using anything else! I also know that it's what some larger blogs such as The Beauty Department uses! Let me know in the comments what you use for comments on your blog and if you think you'll check out disqus!

A Few Updates...

Hi guys!
I'm coming at ya with another video! This is just a few updates for you all about me, the blog, and the channel! If you read my blog regularly, you've actually seen a few of these things, so this video may not be super relevant for you, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!

...And if you don't want to watch, I'll leave abbreviated versions of the three main points here!

1) New content coming!
There's going to be a few sponsored posts and videos on some really cool products coming your way! My first one was on this RoseGal Kimono!

2) Spanish posts coming!
I did a whole post on this, which you can check out here, but I'm going to try incorporate more spanish into my channel, blog, and social media accounts!

3) I'm feeling unmotivated
Help me out by leaving me ideas for posts and videos down in the comments! Especially post ideas because I've done over 600 on my blog already, and I'm starting to run out of inspiration!

So I hope you enjoyed this little video and I'm going to try to upload videos on my channel every three days! I have the rest of november already planned and scheduled, and I'm starting to plan December! Also, please give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel! It really does help me a ton!

My Thoughts on RoseGal

Hey guys!
I was contacted by RoseGal to do a post for them, and they sent me this Kimono so I could see the quality of their products for myself. I was super excited to do this collab with them because I've seen some of their ads, but I had never bought anything from them prior to this! Everything on RoseGal is cheap, but they were lovely enough to give you guys a coupon code! Use code May49rose to get 8% off, and click here to be redirected to their website!

The item that I received is called the Fashionable Collarless 3/4 Length Sleeve Floral Print Tassel Kimono. The quality really surprised me because the retail value for it is around $16, which is cheap compared to similar ones sold at Pac Sun for around $50. The fabric felt really good, and everything was sewn really well. It seriously felt super high quality and well made. The pattern is also fabulous and the tassels are really cute. I also love the trim around the edges! There is really nothing negative I can say about this product!

I am seriously impressed with RoseGal! I know at some stores such as Forever 21 or Wet Seal, the quality can vary from good to terrible depending on the item. I thought that this would be the case with RoseGal, but from my experience as well as other reviews I've read, it sounds like everything is well made and good quality! The one thing that I would keep in mind is that their sizing doesn't really correspond to American sizing, so check the measurements to make sure you're picking the right size!

Let me know if you've bought anything from RoseGal, or if you're planning to! Also, remember to use the code May49rose if you buy anything!

-Sisi

FTC Disclaimer: RoseGal sent me this kimono. All opinions are my own and I have never accepted money for a review.

Links I'm Loving #3

Hi guys!
It's time for another link's I'm loving post! Here we go!

How Old is Too Old to Start a Business?
This was such an interesting post, and it is really reassuring to know that people of all ages are able to chase their dreams!

You'll Never Hear Successful People Say These 15 Phrases?
Some of these were unexpected for me, and this was super interesting to read and learn!

How to Look Forward to Monday?
All 10 of these ideas were really fun to read, and it'll be wonderful to see if mondays really do become less dreaded!

The Problem with the Term Plus Size
I think that plus size acceptance is something that we're still struggling with as a society, and this post was super interesting because it talks about how the fashion industry still isn't accepting that the majority of America is overweight and around a size 14.

Where are Friends' Best Supporting Characters Now?
Such a funny and interesting post! I'm literally counting down the days until Friends gets on Netflix, and I love reading posts like this!

So I hope you enjoyed this post, and come back tomorrow because I'm going to be posting the Lip Product Addict TAG!

Starting a Blog Part 7: What Social Platforms Bloggers Should Use

Hi guys!
I am definitely going to be posting more in this series because I have some video and blog post ideas for this starting a blog series! If you missed my last post in this series about making your blog shopable, click here, and if you want to see all my posts in this series, click here! So this post is going to be about the social media platforms that all bloggers should use!

So let's start off by talking about the platforms I use, and there are a ton! We have some of the basics, so facebook, twitter, pinterest, tumblr, and instagram. I also use some less-known or less-used ones like google+ and wgwt.  I found some of these sites to be more helpful than others for driving traffic to your blog, and I thought that instead of telling you what to use, I'd do pros and cons for each!

Facebook
Pros: literally everyone has a facebook, it's easy to use, the mobile app is very intuitive
Cons: it's difficult to gain "likes" on your page

Twitter
Pros: it's easy to gain followers, you can connect with brands and bloggers easily, it's easy to integrate a widgit in your blog
Cons: the feed moves fast, so you need to post frequently, your tweets need to be 140 characters or less

Pinterest
Pros: you're around like-minded people, you pictures can be shared easily, conversions can be high (depending on the picture)
Cons: hard to get followers, unless you have a lot of followers, you won't get many conversions

Tumblr
Pros: makes it easy to share pictures
Cons: super difficult to get followers

Insta
Pros: picture sharing is really easy, promotes conversation within the comments
Cons: conversion rate is low (as they need to click through your bio)

Google +
Pros: followers are relatively easy (I have 75 and I don't use goolge plus that often), conversion is moderate
Cons: very few people use google plus

WGWT
Pros: you can share your expertise with the world
Cons: you get practically no traffic from it

If you are going to use any of these, I'd say set up your blog so it automatically posts to google pus for you because google plus is relatively helpful and it involves no work from you. I'd also say use pinterest, especially if you have a blog with tons of pictures, twitter, and maybe facebook (if you have the time).

Let me know what social platforms you use and if you're a blogger, let me know which platforms are the most helpful for you!

Hola!

Hola amigos!

Hi guys!
I thought that I'd do another wishlist type post because they're so fun for me to do, and they're really easy to write too! So here are 9 products on my wishlist!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
I really want to get this hourglass lighting palette because I've heard a lot of other bloggers and vloggers raving about it (especially MakeupbyTiffanyD).

Bobbi Brown Smokey Nudes Palette
This looks amazing! I love how the tones in this palette are an the cooler side because I find that cooler tones look awesome both day and night, while warmer tones can look a little weird if you apply a ton of it for a night look (at least on my skin!) It also seems great for traveling!

Stila Magnificent Metals Eyeshadow
I've heard mixed reviews on this eyeshadow, which is kind of a bummer, but the way that it looks when it's applied is fabulous! It's so shiny and metallic and seems perfect for the holiday season!

Urban Decay Vice 3
This palette looks amazing and since I missed out on both the original vice palette and the one they released last year, I definitely want to snag this one up!

NARS Audacious Lipstick
I've seen the swatches on all of these shades on Temptalia and I really want to go to sephora and check them out myself! Especially the reds and vampy shades!

Urban Decay Naked 2
I don't have any of the naked palettes (believe it or not) and this one is definitely the one I want to get! I love the mix of cool and warm and the packaging on this one seems a lot better than Naked 1!

Tom Ford Lip and Nail Box
This is super expensive, but if I had the money to buy it, I definitely would!

YSL Rouge Volupte Perle
The YSL lipsticks look so luxurious from the formula to the packaging, and it seems amazing!

Anastasia Tammana Palette
I know Anastasia is usually known for brow products, but the shades in this palette seem interesting and the price is pretty good too!

So that's what's on my makeup wishlist! Let me know your thoughts on any of these products if you've tried them, or let me know what's on your makeup wishlist!

Go Vote!

Hi guys!
I feel like I've seen a ton of articles telling people to go vote, but I'm going to do it too! Today is election day, and it is incredibly important because we are choosing people to represent us on important issues. Here are 5 reasons to go vote today!

1) Some of the major issues involve women
The most controversial issues right now involve birth control and other women's issues. By not voting, you're essentially giving up control over your body and letting random politicians make decisions that affect you personally.

2) Some races are tight!
Not so much in my state, but I know that the governor races in some states are really close and that gives you such a great reason to go out and vote! You literally could be the deciding vote in those situations.

3) It's your civic duty
A democracy can't work if it's participants don't vote. A common misconception is that your vote doesn't make a difference, but if every person who believes that votes, the results could be drastically changed.

4) If you don't vote, you're a hypocrite when you complain about politics
There are lots of these people who complain about Obamacare or healthcare or taxes, yet still don't vote! As far as I'm concerned, you don't have the right to complain if you don't exercise your right to vote!

5) You get time off of work!
I think that it varies depending on your state, but I'm pretty sure that the majority of the states give you at least 2 hours off to go vote!

As for me, I'm not voting today, but that's only because I'm not 18 yet. I really hope that all of you go out to vote because it is something that is important, and that all citizens should make an effort to do. Let me know in the comments why you go and vote (it could be one of my reasons, or one of your own)! And I'll be back tomorrow with another beauty post!
