Casual Shopping Outfit of the Day!

Hey guys!
I finally got my laptop from my school (I use a school issued laptop) and the good news is that I got a MacBook Air this time! Because for the last couple years I've gotten older laptops and this one's shiny and new! I had these pictures for a couple of weeks, but I couldn't edit them well on my ipad, so here's my casual shopping outfit of the day!

Top: I got this top from Macy's! It's a loose fitting v neck with a low back and lace detailing on the shoulders! It's just very girly and casual and one of my favorite tops!

Shorts: My shorts are just basic dark denim shorts from Old Navy! I cuffed them a couple of times, but if you were going to re-create this, I think that it would look really good with light wash distressed shorts too!

Necklace: My necklace is a pendent necklace from Jewelmint! It's a "watch" necklace so it has the face of a clock on it although the batteries are broken and it's not functional anymore!

Bag: This is my favorite bag! it's a satchel with this blue mosaic pattern on one side, and plain white on the other side and sides! It was a pop of color on an otherwise plain outfit!

So I hope you enjoyed this post! If you want more outfit of the day posts, let me know in the comments and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin! I'm doing a giveaway once I reach 200!

... and for this post's into and over post I'll keep it scent based! I'm in to Prada Candy! It's very sweet, but it's a scent that works for me and a scent that I love! And the scent that I'm over is Marc Jacobs Daisy it's too floral for my liking and I feel like it is everywhere at my school now! It's just not my thing right now.

Fall Lipstick Wishlist!

Hey guys!
It's changing seasons and along with doing "favorite fall lipsticks", which I'll probably do soon, I thought that I'd also do a wishlist! All of these items are from Sephora, and are linked so you can buy them if you'd like!

For me, my wishlist boils down to two different colors: reds/berries and nudes/naturals! Let's start with the nudes/naturals!

This is YSL Rouge Volupte in 3 Beige Ultimate. This is a lipstick formula that I had always wanted to try because I've heard that it's luxurious and fabulous! I really want this color, because it looks like a dimensional nude, so it's not too concealer-like and ghostly! You can purchase it from Sephora by clicking here!

Tarte Matte Lipsurgence in Exposed.  Matte lipsticks are always in during the fall and winter season! I have never used a matte nude lipstick before, and I love the jumbo lip pencil format! I've also never used a lipsurgence, surprisingly enough, and I've wanted to for the longest time! Click here to purchase this (and check out the other shades!).

So now, onto the reds! The first one is OCC Metallic Lip Tar in Manhunter!  Believe it or not, I'm actually a big fan of shimmery and metallic lip tars, especially in reds and deeper shades! This lip tar is a part of OCC's Fall Collection, and this is the shade from that collection that I would actually wear! To see the rest of the collection, and purchase this shade, click here!

Too Faced Melted in Melted Berry is one of the new shades in the Melted formula! This is a formula that I've been wanting to try for a while after reading many reviews on it! I love berry reds for the fall and winter, and I could see this one being stunning with a light eye! To see the rest of the new shades and purchase this one, click here!

So that's my fall lipstick wishlist! Let me know what lip products are on your wishlist in the comments! Also, please follow me on bloglovin! Less than 30 more followers until a giveaway! Who knows! Maybe I'll give away one of these lip products!
-Sisi

I'm into Bare Minerals Original Foundation I recently purchased it and I'm loving the coverage it gives and the finish it has on the skin! I'm over Clinique High Impact Mascara because it has been clumping my lashes together and making them look spidery and weird!

...and I'm in to my new teachers! I only had two classes so far, but the teachers that I have are so enthusiastic and fun that I feel like it's going to be a good school year! I'm over advanced pre calculus homework! I had one homework assignment already that was on lines and slopes, which is review stuff, but it took me legit over 45 minutes to finish!

What I Hate About The Beauty Community

Hi guys!
So as you can tell from the title, this is going to be a post all about what I hate about the beauty community. There are a lot more things that I like about the community than I dislike about it, but I thought that I'd do something different and talk about things that I wish weren't there or were changed about the beauty community!

First off, I really dislike the people who are in this for the money. Sure I run ads on my videos and I have ads on my blog (in the side bar), but the amount of money I made is literally so tiny compared to what other people make (both in the online and real world). If you are in this community for the money, get out! Like I don't want you here, and I'm sure that other people who actually try to post quality content don't want you here either! This isn't some sort of "get rich scheme" and it really bothers me when people treat it like one because for the 99% of us who aren't super big or successful we're doing it for the love of beauty and fashion and not because we are making millions a year because that's ridiculous.

Next I am bothered by the assumption that when we as beauty bloggers or vloggers are gifted products, we are being "bought" by the company and we're being "forced" to write good reviews. I know that the majority of bloggers out there, myself included, won't write review if we think the product is bad and we communicate with the company and say that we don't want to bash their product on the internet. Sure some bloggers will do sponsored posts where the brand has tons of input into the post, but 99% of the time that's not the case.

Going along with that, I hate when people think that we lie in our FTC disclaimers. I have never, personally, lied on a video or blog post and I've never been shady about when I work with companies. I think its kind of insulting the fact that people think we lie on our disclaimers because I know that all the bloggers that I know would never do that to our readers.

I also hate how there seems to be a big divide between members of the community. I get that its natural that the people who have done it longer are friends and the newbies are friends too, but that separation is sad and I wish that it wasn't there.

So I'm sorry if this was a downer of a post, but it was something that has been on my mind recently and I wanted to share with you guys! Like I said in the beginning, there are so many things that I love about the beauty community and I love more things than I hate (I can do a post on things that I love about it to balance it out if you want). This might be weird, but let me know in the comments what you hate about the beauty community, if you feel comfortable sharing, because I think that if we get everything out there, we can start to make the beauty community better! Sorry about how sad and angry this post sounds, because that was not my intention at all!

Love you all so, so, so much!

... And as usual I'm
Into: my new, shiny, custom domain! Yes my blog is now www.modernbeautygirl.com instead of modernbeautygirl.blogspot.com!!!
Over: school! I start school tomorrow and I'm just absolutely dreading it. I don't understand people who are actually excited to go back to school. Like are you shitting me? I'm especially not excited for "Advanced pre Calculous" and "AP Physics". Those just sound horrific.

Worst Dressed at the Emmys

Hi guys!
I just did my best dressed at the Emmys, so if you missed that, click here! This post is going to be on my worst dressed celebrities!

Lena Dunham looks like a piƱata in this dress. Anyone else agree with me on that? Its not flattering at all and it widens her in the most unattractive way! I'm fine with ruffles, but this is just overkill and the ombre with the ruffles? Not my favorite look at all. I thought Taylor Swift at the VMA's was bad, but this is worse!

Christina Hendricks has too much going on with her dress! All that ruching is distracting and it looks weird when the skirt is coming straight out at mid thigh because that's awkward! I'm also not really into red on her because with her hair and her lips its kind of overkill! I'd much rather see her in a more neutral or earth tone!

Ariel Winter wore a crop top and maxi skirt combo just like her Modern Family Co-Star, Sarah Hyland.  Too bad it wasn't nearly as successful as Sarah's outfit! The skirt is just not flattering at all! You really never want to wear horizontal stripes on skirts or dresses unless their fitted because they make you look wider than you actually are, which I think is the case for Ariel.

Julianne Hough's dress is not my favorite. It's very stiff looking, just the material itself looks hard and uncomfortable. I also think that the style of the skirt portion of the dress is weird because it goes straight down. It doesn't flare, or fit body con style, and it lays unnaturally! I also don't like her accessories! The white shoes are too matchy matchy for me and I would've rather seen her do a darker color or pattern!

So those are my worst dressed at the Emmys! To see my best dressed, click here! Don't forget to follow my blog on bloglovin because I'm doing a giveaway very soon!

Best Dressed at the Emmys

Hi guys!
3 posts in a day! It's like Christmas, right? Well I'm going to be doing my best dressed at the Emmys! I did the best/worst dressed at the MTV VMA's last night, and I"m doing the same today! So here are my best dressed celebs!

Melissa Rauch looks gorgeous in a strapless blue dress! The color is perfect for her because it contrasts so well with her light hair and skin! I also loved how she accessorized simply with the black belt and clutch, and sparkly earrings and ring!

Sarah Hyland looks stunning in a white crop top and orange maxi skirt! I love how she did something different than a typical dress and the color combination is lovely! I'm also loving the decision to put her hair in a top knot because it dresses the outfit up and keeps the focus on her outfit!

There's never been a time when Sofia Vergara didn't look gorgeous! I love how the silver stripes on the dress help accentuate her curves and make her figure look fabulous!

Amy Poehler looks fabulous in the silver sparkly dress! I love the mermaid style dress and the stripes on the dress make it figure flattering! There aren't many people that can pull off silver sparkles, and she does it in such a flattering, sophisiticated, and age appropriate way!

Cat Deely looks fabulous in this dress! I love the pink ombre especially because it's a dusty rose color instead of a more typical hot pink ombre! The tie along the waist is also really smart because it keeps her figure looking tiny and it adds a little bit of whimsy to a very girly dress!

My favorites overall would either be Melissa Rauch's blue dress or Sarah Hyland's maxi and crop top combo! Let me know who wore your favorite outfit at the Emmys in the comments! Also, check out my worst dressed by clicking here, and follow me on bloglovin!

Worst Dressed at the MTV VMA's

Hey guys!
I just posted my Best Dressed at the VMA's, so click here to check it out! This post will be on the worst dressed and as usual just my top 3 celebs! So let's get into it!

Kim Kardashian needs to cover up! Personally, I think it's too much skin showing with the MAJOR cleavage and legs. Sure, her arms are pretty covered, but still! Like this could totally turn into a major wardrobe malfunction if the double sided sticky tape fails! I also hate how the upper portion of the dress is so loose and "poncho-esque" because it covers her great figure. I personally think Kim looks best in fitted dresses and this is just kinda a mess for me! Also, girlfriend needs a necklace or some accessories STAT!

Lucy Hale looks kinda grandma-ish in this crop and skirt combo! I think that this outfit makes her look a lot wider if you know what I mean. I think it's because the voluminous skirt doesn't really provide much shape. Honestly, she has the opposite problem of Kim Kardashian because she's covering too much skin! Show more midriff, go for a lower cut top or a shorter skirt! Come on Lucy! You're in your 20's! Dress like it!

Honestly every time I see a picture of Taylor Swift in this I laugh. This is just the most ridiculous outfit ever and it's just terrible!

Props to Taylor for taking a chance, but I'm just not feeling it! It seems a little too "dance leotard" instead of "red carpet fashion". Maybe with different hair? Or more accessories? I don't exactly know what in particular I don't like about this outfit, I just don't. Except her shoes! Her shoes are the one redeeming quality! I love them shoes!

So those were my worst dressed at the VMA's! Let me know who your best/worst dressed picks are in the comments and come back tomorrow for my best/worst dressed at the EMMYS!

Best Dressed at the MTV VMA's

Hey guys!
So it is awards season, so that means that you'll be getting a lot more posts from me (at least for now!) This post will be on my best dressed at the MTV VMA's, but there will be a worst dressed coming up very soon! Here we go!

Hot damn! Gwen Stefani looks fabulous in this outfit! I love the black stripes because it is so flattering and gives the illusion of a slimmer figure! The hot pink is also so striking especially compared to the leather that the majority of celebs were wearing this year!

Kesha got her shit together and looks fabulous in a floor length gown! I love how it shows off her healthy figure, while balancing sexy and conservative by showing skin up top, while covering the bottom. She looks gorgeous and overall, this is my favorite look of the VMA's!

I feel like this is a love it or hate it outfit. But I absolutely love it! Victoria's got rockin legs, so I love how she showed them, while keeping all the skin balanced with the high low skirt. I also give her an A+ on hair and makeup, and that bag is super fun, although I'm not loving the shoes. I think that she should have done strappy wedges or at least platform heels, but overall I'm loving this look!

Let me know who wore your favorite outfit in the comments below, and check out my worst dressed at the VMA's here!

Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer NUDE ECLIPSE Review!

Hey guys!
So I already reviewed the Comet shade and I thought I'd review Nude Eclipse for you today! I'll keep this intro short and sweet and let's get into the good stuff!

I love the packaging on these! It's a tube that has a gradient from the color (bottom) to black (top)! It's really awesome because it looks great and you can also see the shade through the packaging. The applicator is a doe foot with a slight dip in the middle, forming a sort of bowl that carries more of the product from the tube to the lips. I love this because it makes it super easy to apply and you don't have to keep dunking it in!

The shade is a very concealer-like nude. Is it attractive on me? Not in the slightest, but I think that it can look good on someone with slightly lighter skin than me or with a pinker lip liner under or lip gloss over it! The pigmentation on this is great and I can get full coverage with minimal product. Because it is a very light nude, you do have to be careful and get it right up to the lip line because it can look crazy if you don't. The doe foot applicator isn't the greatest for that, but if you're careful, it'll work just fine.

The consistency of this product is different. It is a stain, but it doesn't have that water-like consistency that they tend to have. This one has a very creamy, yet lightweight feel almost like an OCC lip tar if you know what that feels like. It doesn't dry down like a normal stain does. It leaves my lips feeling hydrated instead of dry and also doesn't flake off like normal lipstains can.

Overall, I give this product and formulation a big thumbs up, but maybe not this exact shade. I was looking for a nude, so I have no regrets with this product, but I might suggest keeping the lightness of it in mind if you're interested in purchasing.

Let me know your thoughts on this product in the comments below! Also, don't forget to follow me on bloglovin for more posts!

Smokey Liner Makeup of the Day

*Note from Sisi: This post was legit written in like April or May but I had other posts to upload so here it is now!

Hey guys!
So first off, yes another prewritten post! So sorry about all these prewritten ones, but I thought that prewritten posts were better than a couple weeks of no posts! So here's the makeup that I wore a couple days ago and I thought I would share with you what I did because I liked the way it ended up!

Eyes:
So for the eyes I wanted to do a navy blue smokey eye. I used a soft pencil liner to trace a thick line on the upper and lower lashline and the lower waterline. I used a q-tip to smudge out the liner to make it softer, focusing on blending the upper lashline liner up onto the lid and the lower lashline one out and up to make a slight wing shape. I applied a skin toned eyeshadow on the lid just because I have oily eyelids so it set better with it and I also used a navy powder shadow on a angled brush over the shadow just to blend everything out more. I finished up with two coats of mascara, but I would go with falsies if you can just to make it more dramatic!

Face:
I just did my normal face makeup, so I used a little concealer, pressed powder, bronzer, and filled in my brows. I didn't use any blush because I wanted the eyes to be the focus of the look, but you could totally use some if you wanted to.

Lips:
I used my OCC lip tar in Memento as my lip color (it's a nude/pink color that's pretty much the same shade as my lips naturally are) and I topped it off with a little bit of lip balm for some shine.

So I hope you guys liked this post! Let me know in the comments what colors you like to use in your smokey eyes because I am loving the brighter shades instead of the basic black smokey eye!

My Favorite Lip Color of the Moment!

Hey guys!
So I'm going to do a post on my favorite lip color of the moment because I thought it'd be fun and I've been wearing this for literally the last couple weeks straight. The thing is... you can't get this color anymore. But I decided to do it anyways and keep it short and sweet and hope you can find dupes!

It's Camera, which is a Stila lip glaze that I love! It was limited edition for Birchbox, but it's just a rosy brown shade with pink shimmer. It's seriously so gorgeous and I love it so much and just had to share! If you know of any dupes for this, please let me know and leave it in the comments for my readers! Also, just my thoughts on Stila lip glazes in general... I love them! I don't mind the stickiness (until I'm in wind and my hair gets all up in it) because stickier lip color have better staying power. I also love Stila's packaging and colors and I don't mind a slightly tacky feel on my lips. So that's that!
-Sisi

Also...
In To: My MacBook Air! It's only mine until May because my school issues it to all the students, but it's absolutely fantastic and light and perfect!
Over: Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. I loved the show when it was Altman, Flagg, and Madison, but ever since they replaced Madison with the two British dudes, I'm not as into it. There's only been one episode so far, so we'll see if I like it more as the season progresses!

Back to school fashion inspiration!

Hi guys!
So this is the last in my "back to school inspiration" series and it's going to be all about fashion and outfits that I would wear to school! Honestly 90% of the time I wear a v neck and jeans, but these outfits are great for when I want to actually try to dress myself!

I love this for fall! The dress is totally school appropriate (for me at least) and I love how you could change the shoes up and the accessories and wear it a billion different ways!

I love a good graphic tee or tank and dark skinny jeans go with everything! I'm also loving those feather earrings because they dress up the outfit and make it more feminine and girly!

For me, I love layering for school because outside it can get quite warm and humid, being in Hawaii and it can also be freezing in the classrooms! A nice jacket can dress up or down an outfit, but I also like wearing flannels or long sleeve denim button downs over tanks like the one in the picture!

So let me know what kinds of outfits you'd wear to school and if you dress fancier than me or more casual! Also, check out my new online personal shopping service if you want me to style you!
-Sisi

P.S. I'm in to ARP it's a machine that I use at physical therapy for my shoulder rehabilitation and it's so good! It sends electrical shocks at targeted muscles and it is amazing! Over being laptopless! I'm getting a school issued one tomorrow and I couldn't be happier!

Back To School Makeup Inspiration

Hey guys!
So this makeup inspiration might not be exactly "back to school" worthy for some of you guys, but they are some things that I might wear to school! I get that a couple pictures might be too heavy of a look for school depending on where you go and what grade you're in, but "inspirations" are exactly what this is, so I hope it's still helpful!

So this is the most wearable of all the makeup looks that I have for you guys today! I love a good cat eye and I think that it's a way of looking really put together, while still only spending 15 minutes on your look! And a good pink lip is always in, although I could also see this looking fab with a deeper brown/nude color!

I love a good bronze look because it makes it seem like you spent all of your summer at the pool or beach instead of at a job! I wouldn't go so glowy or as heavy on the highlight as the one in this picture because I could see that being a mess after a day at school, but a little bit of bronzer could look great!

This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it! That lip color is seriously my favorite (Rimmel Showoff Lip Lacquer in Comet is close) and I think that it's a great lip color for school! The eyes in this look are very smokey and dark, but I love the idea of a heavily lined eye on like a friday or just a day when you want to be edgier!

So I totally get that you guys might not like these looks for school, but I think regardless, they'll be good inspiration for a night out or even a weekend!

and today I'm...
In To: Running Wild. Seriously the best television show ever! It's where Bear Grylls takes celebs into the wilderness. So far there's been Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, and Ben Stiller!
Over: Starbucks prices! They are just so high right now! My dad even said it's scary when a drink costs more than a happy meal!

Back To School Hair Inspiration

Hi guys!
So it's been too long since my last hair inspiration post (and don't worry, there's a beauty and fashion one coming soon) and I thought that I'd make this one a "back to school" one because it is BTS season!

I love this hair for school because sometimes I don't try with my school outfit and I show up in an oversized sweatshirt and leggings and this hair is the perfect "messy chic" to make it look like the outfit was purposeful. It is also great with a more sophisticated outfit to tone it down and make it school appropriate!

I love a high ponytail and at school 60% of the time, my hair is in one. I just love how sophisticated and nice this one looks!

I love this messy braid because it is probably one of the easiest things to do, but it looks so good!

So that's my back to school hair inspiration! Let me know how you wear your hair at school in the comments below and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin!

Also, if you're curious:
In To: this cool little speaker thing that has a light on the top. Makes any room look like a club! Seriously so awesome!
Over: the humidity! Hurricane Iselle and Julio are gone,  but it's still so humid and hot outside!

Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers COMET Review!

Hey guys!
So I hauled a couple of lip products a while ago and I thought that I would review them for you! So this one will be my review on the Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in the shade COMET. I also have Nude Eclipse, but that'll be in a separate post!

It comes in a lipgloss type tube with the color visible at the bottom (that pink is the shade). The applicator is doe foot style, but with a little dip in it, so it carries a little more product when you take it out of the tube. I love this applicator as I can get both my upper and lower lip covered without having to keep going back to the tube.

I don't have a picture with it on my lips, but it's the lip color I'm wearing in the thumbnail for this video!

The shade that I got was comet. It is a mauvey pink shade that I think is neutral enough and wearable enough to be an everyday shade. It is a tad bit deeper than my natural lip color and it adds a subtle shine and a deeper, more mauve tone to the lips. The lasting power on these is great because I can get 6 hours no problem with minor transferring and fading. After I eat, I like to reapply it because it can get a little old looking, but it doesn't ever look "bad".

Overall I have no negatives for this product! It's absolutely fabulous and I can't rave about it enough! I love this shade and I think that it is a must for anyone and everyone. Especially if you're an older lady, though, because I think that as you age, mauves look better and better on the lips! Although I'm 17 and love this shade too.... So don't forget to follow me on bloglovin and check out my youtube channel!  I have a video on my YouTube channel using this product as well as a few others for the perfect neutral lip, so check that out! Also, leave a comment below letting me know which shades of the show off lip lacquer are your favorites because I want need to get more!

Follow Your Dreams

Hi everyone!
This is going to be a different sort of post because it's not beauty or fashion based, but it's on a topic I feel is important and I wanted to do a inspirational post for you today!

I am currently a senior in high school. I pretty much just turned seventeen and my dream job would be to have a career as a blogger or vlogger. That dream job seems a little far fetched and I get that. But, I put myself on this blog and my other blog, and my two youtube channels because I believe that this is something I can do as long as I put in time and effort. The other day I posted a tweet that said something along the lines of "I can't believe my friend just launched his media marketing company. High schoolers can do great things!" and I wanted to branch off of this idea and write a whole post on it.

I know that many parents have high expectations for their children. Mines are no exception. I've been told to think of potential income when choosing a college major or a future career. As children and young adults we become trapped in the mindset of "my parents say I can't be a ____ and they're right" or "my parents want me to become a _____, so I will when I really want to be a ___". I don't believe in that. I think that dreams are so important and following them is even more important. It doesn't matter if your blog doesn't produce revenue, or your etsy shop has no buyers as long as you're putting yourself out there, you're taking the first step towards greatness.

Our generation is different than the previous ones because we have the ability to make things happen for ourselves. I know multiple people who are getting paid for doing things that they love. A couple of my friends are making tons of money with senior portraits because they are charging less than professionals, but still doing a hell of a good job. Another classmate has pitched his business to people at Harvard during Junior year of high school. As for the friend I referenced in the tweet, he has clients and is doing great things.

No matter what your dreams are, you have the ability to achieve them. The hardest part is taking that first step, believe me, I know what that feels like, but every thing after that is nothing but fun. If you enjoy what you do, you'll never work a day in your life and I want all of you guys to love life and love what you do.
-Sisi

So for all of you guys who are interested...
In To: being 17!!! As of when I'm writing this I'm still 16, but I plan for this to go up after thursday, so yay for being a year older (and hopefully wiser!) I'm also really into people following their dreams ;)
Over: people telling young adults and teenagers that we're incapable of greatness because that's a load of crap! We may be younger, but we can achieve wonders.

It's my birthday!

Hey guys!
It's my birthday today! I am now 17 years old. Actually, I'm writing this post on my new iPad mini that my family bought me! I'll do a haul on my birthday presents soon, although not tomorrow like I said in yesterday's live stream, because I'm not seeing my friends until next week.

16 was by far the hardest year of my life with my shoulder injury, difficult classes, the end of cheerleading for me, and prepping for college. But the best thing about the year was by far my blogs! It has been my outlet now that I'm not cheerleading and you guys, my readers, are the most amazing people in the world. Although it may be my birthday today, I wanted to give a big thank you to all of you. Whether you are followed to my blog or are a new reader, thank you. I love all of you and I couldn't be more excited to see where this blog, my YouTube channels, and even my personal shopping ventures take us.

I couldn't be more blessed and happier than I am right now and for that you guys are 100% responsible! I love you all so much and I hope you know how much you're appreciated.

How To Balance Blogging/Vlogging with School

Hello guys!
I think that this might be a longer post, so I'm going to keep this intro short and sweet! I want to do a series for back to school and I thought that I'd do the normal stuff (makeup tutorials, hauls, outfits...) but I'd also do posts like this for all of you students that have blogs or channels! So let's get started!

1) Realize your priorities
For me, and I'm sure the majority of you guys, school comes first. Just realizing that and knowing that you may not be able to post a ton during finals or rough times at school is going to make a huge difference because you're not going to feel pressured to post. If it is something that you want to do, you can also add a disclaimer in a post or video saying that you'll try to get _____ of posts in per week, but you might not be able to.

2) Learn the benefits of prefilming/blogging
I am really huge into prefilming and preblogging. As of right now, I have 7 prewritten posts for this blog, 7 prefilmed vids for my beauty channel and 9 prefilmed vids for my other channel. If you know that you don't want to film during the week or if you know that you're going to be busy, try prefilming 2-4 videos or writing 2-4 posts all in one sitting so you have a little stash in case you can't write or film that week. For me, as a general rule of thumb I try to have 2 prefilmed or prewritten things that I can use if I am unable to write that week.

3) Sleep is a necessity
I'm sure that everyone else has done it as well, but if it's 11 at night and you were supposed to upload a post or video and you haven't, forget about it! Sleep is something that we as young people need a ton of and it's a lot more important than a video or a post and just know that your viewers will understand!

4) Don't stress
I know that this is a really hard one to follow, but don't ever stress about youtube or your blog. Your viewers and readers are people too, and they will totally understand (at least 98% of the time) if you are too busy to upload. And, if you are stressing a ton, maybe re-evaluate and see if this is something you have time for.

5) Have fun!
I've balanced having a blog with really intense school classes (like 2 APs last year and an honors) and it has been nothing but fun. If you are really passionate about your channel or blog, everything will work itself out and will come easy as time passes.

Hopefully this post was helpful for you guys! I might do another one on how to balance blogging/vlogging with a social life, if you'd be into that! Also, let me know in the comments if there are any other posts like this you'd want to see and to all you bloggers and vloggers reading this, let me and my younger readers know what tips you have for balancing youtube/blogging and school in the comments!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!

One Direction Volumizing Mascara Review

Hi guys!
So now I'm reviewing the mascara! This mascara is the same in all three of the one direction set, so hopefully this post will help you even if you don't want to buy the "Take Me Home" Set.

First off, packaging! It has the same matte and shiny black packaging that pretty much all the products have in the line. It is slightly annoying when you're trying to read the packaging because it's black on black and that makes it so hard to read. It's a nice long, skinny tube and it comes with 6.5mL of product, which is kind of small compared to other mascaras that I own (i.e. Covergirl Flamed out has 11mL).

The wand is a nice natural bristle brush that tapers at the end. It reminds me of the Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes wand although that one is plastic if I remember correctly and this one is natural bristles. It has a nice medium formula, which isn't too wet or too dry. It's really perfect for me! It is also a nice black shade that ends up true black (no gray tint like some mascaras can do).

My one complaint is that "volumizing" claim. I do think that I get great separation with the wand and definition, but volumizing doesn't really work for me. It also doesn't layer well and kind of gets clumpy and weird looking if you try doing more than 2 coats.

With that being said, I'll say this is a good natural mascara and it is a good addition to the makeup sets, but should definitely not be the sole reason you're buying this set because there are better volumizing mascaras (like Covergirl lashblast volume) in the drugstore for less!

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you're going to purchase this set in the comments! Also, come back tomorrow for another review!

One Direction Eye and Body Crayon Review

Hi friends!
So I already posted my first impressions of the One Direction Take me Home makeup set, but I promised in that post (which if you haven't seen you can read here) that I would do individual reviews on all of the products! I'm going to try get them all out before August 11th because that is when the makeup is released at Macy's. Also, I know I'm doing individual reviews on products only sold as a set, but that is so you can see what I think of the individual products and you can decide for yourself if it is something worth purchasing (I think it's going to be sold for $29, but I don't know if that's exact.) Let's get started!

We should start with packaging! It is a matte black with glossy black writing on it that doesn't really make sense because you can't read it! It is a pencil that needs to be sharpened, which is a downside, but that isn't that big of a deal for me.

The color I got was "I Wish" from the Take Me Home set. This is the most natural set of the three and the pencil is in a medium chocolate brown type shade. The formula is so smooth and it applies like a dream! There is absolutely no tugging and it glides really awesome. It also blends really well, although it never completely sets. This means that if you have oily eyes, you should use a eye primer underneath it and everyone should set it with powder!

So how'd you like that review? Short and sweet, right? Okay so for my final thoughts: if you're going to buy this makeup set primarily for this jumbo pencil, I would say don't buy the kit because it is so similar to NYX jumbo pencils because both of them need to be set with powder and NYX has a ton more colors! But if you're eyeing some other products as well, read my other reviews on them (coming in the next few days) and decide for yourself!
Let me know what you think of the one direction set if you end up getting it or if you got a press sample like me! And leave a comment below letting me know which member of one direction is your favorite! I'm not super into any of them, but I guess mines would be Zayn!

Jordana Lip Liner in NATURAL Review!

Hey everyone!
So I have a review for you today on a product that I've been LOVING! It's the Jordana lip liner in "Natural". These are not the easyliners, which I also love, but the normal 99 cent ones. Let's get into the review!

So the packaging is normal. Nothing special. It comes with a little silver cap to keep it covered and the color of the pencil itself is the same shade as the actual product. It is a pencil that needs to be sharpened, which I think is a tad inconvenient, but that's okay.

The shade I got is Natural and that perfectly sums up what the lip color is! It's a very natural shade that is pretty much the exact same color as my lips. This is great for a variety of reasons, but the main one is that it allows me to use this as a lip liner under any lipstick or gloss because it evens out my lips without changing the base shade too much.

Alone, it's not very stunning. It just evens everything out nicely, which makes it great for an everyday shade. The pencil is very creamy so it doesn't tug at the lips. It is also really easy to shade in the lips with this pencil as it glides over everything really nicely.

There's not really any cons to this product except for the fact that it is a pencil that needs to be sharpened, and for a 99 cent product, I wouldn't expect a twistup. This is just a fantastic lip liner that is so versatile and I love it! I'm going to try get my hands on different shades of this product and see if they all perform as well as this one did!

Let me know in the comments if you've ever tried this lip liner out and what your thoughts on it were! Also, don't forget to follow me on bloglovin if you haven't already! It really helps me out a lot if you do!
