One Direction Take Me Home Makeup Set First Impressions

*Update: I read that it'll retail for $29, but I'm not 100% sure if that's accurate or not

Hi guys!
So I'm pretty sure this post is going to end up very long because there are 7 components of this set that I need to get to. But first, I'm going to be completely honest with you and tell you that I did receive this palette for free, but that in no way impacts the reviews and thoughts that I express in this post! Also this is going to be just a first impressions post and I'll do individual reviews for each product so you can decide whether this is something you'd like to spend your money on. And if you don't want to spend your money, Markwins was amazing enough to let me host a giveaway where up to 50 people will win one of the 3 palettes! If you want to enter the giveaway, click here.

So first off the packaging is huge! It's the size of a book and the case is made of metal. I do like this packaging in the sense that everything is removable so you can repurpose the case for something else if you'd like to. But the individual product packaging is black and the writing on it is also black so I don't think that was very smart, but it's not a big deal to me. Another thing I wish this kit had is a mirror! Especially on the eyeshadow.

I think the packaging is the same for all 3 palettes, but I got the most neutral one called "Take Me Home"

Now into the first impressions!

Eye and body crayon (I wish)
This is a nice chocolatey brown jumbo eye pencil that I guess can be used on the body too! It has great pigmentation, applies evenly and smoothly, and from what I've tried so far, I think it has great staying power.

Liquilights Glow Gloss (kiss you)

I don't have a blacklight so I can't test the "glowing" claim, but this gloss has great pigmentation. It does have a tad bit of shimmer but it's not frosty at all. The applicator is a flattened doe foot applicator and it has a slight vanilla scent. Think MAC scent, but a little different.

Lipstick (last first kiss)

This is a nice bright rosy color that has a satin finish. This doesn't have a scent that I can pick out and the pigmentation is okay, although definitely not full coverage.

4+1 Eyeshadow Palette (back for you, change my mind, take me home, c'mon c'mon, and little things)

There are three matte powders that have varying pigmentation. The cream shade is by far my favorite of the mattes as the other two need to be built up quite a bit. The shimmery champagne shadow is very, very glittery and I can see fallout being a problem with this shadow unless you have a fantastic base. But all 4 of the powder eyeshadows have a wonderful texture that is creamy and smooth. The cream eyeshadow is a slight disappointment because I thought the glitter was throughout, but it was only an overlay. I think the cream shadow might crease especially on oily lids, but it could be great if it was set with a powder.

The wand on this is natural bristled with a slight taper towards the tip. It is a nice black shade and it is a very good sized mascara!

Not something I will use, but it's nice if you want it!

Nail Polish
It is a silver glitter with some blue and pink glitter in it (although it's mostly silver). It doesn't apply great by itself, but it's good as a top coat over a plain polish!

When I first got this opportunity, I was confused as to whether this owuld be little kid makeup or real actual makeup that I'd wear and I'm pleasantly surprised!

You can buy these palettes...

Beauty Chat #1

Hi guys!
So I'm starting a new series on my youtube channel and it's called "Beauty Chat!" It's pretty much self explanatory, but I'm going to just have a little chat about some things that have been on my mind! I kind of want a cooler name to call these videos rather than "beauty chat" so let me know if you have a cool one in the comments! Also, the lighting in this video is horrendous, but I was experimenting and I definitely know not to film in that location any more! So here it is!

So let me know if you like these types of videos because they are so fun for me to film! Also, leave name ideas for these videos in a comment below!
Talk to you soon!

Denim Shirt OOTD

 Hey guys!
So I'm not quite sure when you're going to be reading this because I'm prewriting a lot of posts so you'll have some reading material while I'm recuperating from my surgery. A lot of the posts that I've prewritten are kind of bland because they're all info with no pictures, so I thought I'd spruce it up with an outfit of the day! A little backstory on this top first... It is a little big on me because it's a medium and I usually wear a small/x-small, but I bought it with the full intention of wearing it after my surgery when I can't lift my arms to put on a normal t-shirt. This was just my test run of that. So here we go!

So my shirt is from old navy. I really love it because it's super soft and really comfortable to wear! It has buttons halfway down the front and cuffed sleeves. It's kinda long so it doesn't look like I'm wearing pants, but I totally am!

My shorts are just basic black ones from H&M. I kinda like the "no pants" look with this because I think that it's summer and people are showing more skin, so why not show more leg? But if you're going to try this, stay really conservative with the top so you look more fashionista and less train wreck...

Well that's my outfit of the day! I hope that you guys like this post and leave a comment below letting me know how you would style this shirt because I'd love to hear your ideas!

Special Share the Love Saturdays: Favorite Youtubers!

Hey guys!
So if you were following me on twitter a couple weeks ago I posted that I was prewriting tons of posts because I am losing (or lost) my laptop already! It's school issued and since summer school is over, I no longer have it. So this was one of the many posts I prewrote! Let's get started!

Julia and Michelle from Milia808
These two girls are both really great friends of mine (if you watched my throughout the years kindergarten, that is the very same julia) and I love their channel! It's a lot of follow me around type vlogs and a couple DIYs and they're super fun to watch! My favorite videos of theirs are their daily vlogs especially the disneyland ones!
Subscribe to their channel here!

Christian from AmberBlueFilms
He has a good 10,000 more subscribers than I do, so actually I think he should give me the shoutout! Just kidding! But Christian is an amazing person and I have some great memories of algebra 2/trig class with him and his videos are hilarious! Some are tech based, which he is great at, others are mini videos, which are also great because he wants to have a career in film and he's very good at it.
Check out his channel here!

Hope from BeautyandBliss67
Yes, I know I mention her in a ton of posts, but she is amazing and fabulous, so why wouldn't I? She has given me tons of pointers as a new youtuber and her videos are always so fun to watch!
Sub to her channel here!

Me from OtherModernGirl
What's a blog post without some self promotion? I just wanted to stick my other youtube channel here at the end because I know a lot of you don't know that I have another youtube channel, and I do! I have some "throughout the years" posts, a sister tag, and daily vlogs on that channel so check it out!
Sub to me here!

So I hope you enjoyed this post! I know that all of the people listed were my friends or classmates (or me), but I really love all of their (and my) channel, and I wanted to share with you guys! If you want to be featured in one of these posts, click here and read about what you need to send me to be featured!

Hey guys!
So I'm back with another share the love saturdays post! Last week I did favorite businesses (that my friends started), which I'll link here. This week's post will be on my favorite bloggers! These are gals with fab beauty and fashion blogs that I wanted to share with you! Yes, I have mentioned all of these girls in a post before, but I thought that I'd list them all together so you can check them out!

Cali from CaliJae
She is a beauty and fashion blogger and a fashion student. Her blog is amazing, but my favorite thing is her outfit of the days! They're always really well done and she makes me want to be more experimental with my style!
Check out her blog here

Hope from BeautyandBliss67
Hope is a great blogger (her reviews are the best!) and is a super great friend as well. She was the one who inspired me to start my youtube channel (link to my channel here) and she is currently doing a lot of giveaways on her channel, so check those out!
Check out her blog here

Rebecca from MoreRebe
Rebecca is an awesome blogger and I love her blog so much! She always has wonderful recipes and her photos make the food look so good! I also love how she was brave enough to do a "me without makeup" post because it was really hard for me to do it and the fact that she did it too was really awesome!
Check out her blog here!

Natalie from YoursTrulyNY
I love Natalie's blog because it's always really informative and helpful! Her fashion sense is a lot more girly than mine, and I love taking inspiration from her outfit of the days and girlying up my outfits!

Share the Love Saturdays: Business Edition!

Hey guys!
So first off let me say that it's been forever since one of my share the love saturdays posts! I really want to ressurect this series because it's super fun to learn about new bloggers and all that, so if you want to be featured and have a blog or a youtube channel, click here to learn what you need to send me! I'm also thinking of doing a post on all my favorite bloggers like Cali, Rebe, Natalie, Ivy, and Hope for all of you that don't already know about them.

This post is different from the others because it is on businesses. And more so, on businesses that my friends and classmates run. They are not sponsoring me in any way, shape, or form, but I wanted to "share the love" with them and help get the word out. I know this might not be everyone's cup of tea because I am recommending things that would benefit people I know, but I truly love all of these things and I know you will too! Also, please no hate comments! Leave now if you're going to be upset by this post! I have over 500 others you can read!

Festival Ink
This shop is run by Sera, who is one of my friends and was my teammate when I was cheerleading! She found a way to make really rad temporary tattoos and she's selling them on her website, which I'll link here! Everything on this site is under $5, which makes them super affordable and she also does CUSTOM PRINTING, so if you don't see something you like, you can send her an email and she'll create one that fits your needs! It also ships super quickly (it's shipped out 1-2 days after you order it), which is awesome because I hate it when shipping takes forever!

Salt and Water Hawaii
I don't actually know the owner of this shop, but her sister is in my grade and was a fellow cheerleader with me! This shop sells earrings and really cool pouches! I love these clutches because the owner's sister takes all the photos and they look super beachy and tropical! They are a tad bit expensive, but if you get them on clearance, they are cheaper and they are great for storing things in your bag or you could even use it as a "clutch" bag if you don't want to carry around a lot of things! You can check out their selection of items by clicking here!

Akemi Swimwear
My classmate started this swimwear company and I absolutely love it! The swimsuits on this site are a little bit pricy, but they are very well made and really cute! If you want to invest in a nice suit that isn't as pricey as acacia, then you might want to check out this website! They also get new inventory frequently, so keep checking their site to see what's on sale and what's new! You can shop their site by clicking here!

So I hope that this shameless promoting of my classmates and friends wasn't super annoying, but I honestly love all of their websites and products and I wouldn't be recommending them if I didn't think you guys would too! Don't forget to click here and apply to be in my next share the love saturdays post!

Picture Perfect Foundation Routine!

Hey guys!
So I have a picture perfect foundation routine for you today! It's not an everyday makeup type foundation by all means, but it's really great for events and pictures! I also have a little request for you guys! Will you tell me whether you like the makeup I'm wearing in the foundation routine video better or if you like the makeup in my vlog (I'll put it lower in the post) better for my senior portraits because I can't decide!

So also, the lighting in that video is pretty horrid, but I'm working on it! I promise! I already filmed another video with the same lighting (on the eyes), but after that goes up I'll try to find a better setup!

Cynthia Rowley 'Valentine' Creamy Lipstain Review

Hello guys!
So I received a sample of the Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lipstain in my June Birchbox and I decided to review it for you today! I got the shade "Valentine", which is described as a "punchy hot pink".

First off let's start with the packaging! I love the black with gold foil on the cap because I think that's so cute and it's something different from most other brands. The tube itself is clear plastic, which I like because you can see the shade inside. The wand is a doe foot applicator, which I'm not particularly fond of because it's harder to be precise with your application and you can end up getting product outside the lip lines and all over the place.

The product itself isn't very creamy. Well let me say that the product itself is a cream, but it isn't creamy. Does that even make sense? I'm not quite sure. But when you apply it, it feels like a liquid (like most stains do). It has a very water like feel when you apply it, which is great because it means that it's light feeling and comfortable, but it isn't creamy and isn't hydrating (although it isn't drying either).

Okay so honestly, I haven't used a stain before this one. Crazy, right? Well I used what I've seen other beauty gurus do when applying stains and I tried to copy what they do. Here's the trouble.  I'm doing all this left handed because my right arm is still in a sling and the doe foot applicator is large, so it covers more surface area, but it also made it hard to do the upper lip (or that could be because I was using my left hand...). Also you have to wait for it to dry (only like a couple minutes) and you should really not press your lips together during that time. So if you're going to try use this, apply it like normal, but don't press your lips together or anything. It'll feel weird, but when it dries it feels super comfortable.

This shade is a rosy pink with warm undertones. It's not super bright, but it has a bit of brightness to it and also a slight golden shimmer. It doesn't appear metallic on the lips, but there is a shimmer from it and it can accentuate dryness. I think this color is great for a brighter everyday lip color and it's super wearable. There's also a bright lilac shade and a more nude pink one available too I believe.

Freshly Applied

So I tested this for wear time and I'm disappointed. About 3 hours in it started looking ratchet. It was fading in the middle, leaving lines around the edges. The top lip was fading faster than the lower lip so it looked a little wacky and it wasn't nearly as vibrant as it was when I first applied it. This was how it wore with talking and drinking, but no eating. After I ate lunch (so around 4.5 hours of wear) there was pretty much nothing left. Just a tint of color, but nothing noticeable. I'm disappointed because even after an hour of wearing it, I could see that it started fading and after 4 hours it was all gone. I've had lipsticks last longer than that!

After 4 Hours

In conclusion I think the name is misleading, but I think it's a good product. I think that this product would be good for people who want some pigment, without the feel of a heavier lipstick, but if you want staying power, moisture, bold color, or glossiness you should get something else. Also just saying... these are $20 each or 3 for $45, so there are lots of products at the drugstore that do staining or pigment or gloss better for cheaper. If you've tried this out, let me know your thoughts on it because I'm really interested to see what you think of it!

June Favorites

Hey guys!
So I have a june favorites video today! I'm still trying to get used to filming, so the lighting is kind of dark and the auto focus was off during a segment, but I hope that you guys can excuse that! Here it is!

Those are my june favorites! Let me know in the comments what yours are and also subscribe to my youtube channel and thumbs up this video!
