Let's Get Nude (Bloggers Do It Better)

Hi guys!
So today's makeup tutorial is on a "look like you're wearing no makeup when you're really wearing a shit ton" tutorial. It's my blog post for the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge because this week's topic was Bloggers Do Bright or Neutral Better. I obviously went with the neutral aspect of this topic. To see any of my previous posts for the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge, check out the "pages" section of the side bar.

So I didn't want to use a foundation because I think that the coverage it gives can be really great, but foundation (in my opinion) never looks as natural as using a concealer. I used MAC pro longwear, which is one of the newer things that I've purchased. I used my Jouer bronzer as a contour, which I've reviewed here, and for blush I used my new theBalm sample of "Pie", which is a shade from their new cheek/lip palette. Reviews will be coming really soon of the concealer and blush!

So although this is a more natural makeup look, I still went big and bold with the brows because I love the look of really nice brows. I used two of my eyeshadow shades in this palette and mixed them together as my brow powder. I used Sultry (the medium matte brown) and Sleek (a darker matte brown) from theBalm's Nude Tude Palette and mixed it to get something in the middle. For the actual eye look, I applied a thin layer of MAC Brulee all over the lid up to the browbone. This is just to prevent oiliness on the lid and just to make sure our eyes are even because they tend to look purplish depending on the veins. I used Brulee because it matches my skintone, but feel free to use whatever looks best on you. As my liner I used the same combo as I used on my brows and applied that in a thick layer to the upper lashline and lower lashline. I then used a Q tip to smudge it out and get it looking natural and faded.

I wanted to go really nude with the lips. First I used a Sephora lip liner (I'm not a huge fan of this liner so I'm not going to say the shade name) and I was going to leave it like that, but it looked weird and unnatural and made me look almost corpse like so I used my Kat Von D lipstick in Celebutard (I think?) and applied that over to get a more pink tone. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of either of these shades just because they don't look good with my skin tone, so use you're favorite nude lip combo!

So I hope you enjoyed this makeup tutorial! Let me know in the comments if you like my new blog layout (because I am really happy with it!) and if you have any good nude lip combos because I obviously really need to find a better one!
