Sunkissed Summer TAG!

Hi guys!
It's been forever since I've done a TAG, and I came across this one as I was browsing youtube and thought it would be fun! So here it is!

1) When did/do you get out of school?
May 28 is the day of my last final, but school "ended" on the 23.

2) Beaches or pools?
Beach!

3) Are you going on any summer vacations? If not, what's your dream summer vacation?
I might go to an outer island (so Maui, Kauai, Lanai, or the Big Island), but if not, then my dream summer vacay would be a road trip all over Cali with my friends! So we could go to Malibu, San Fran, Orange (and Disneyland), maybe even up north in cali into like the redwood forests and stuff!

4) S'mores or Ice Cream
I like s'mores more, but I eat ice cream more often!

5) What's your most fun summer memory?
Last summer was really fun because my family went to look at colleges with me so we flew in to san fran, drove to LA, then drove to vegas!

6) Does your skin tan or burn?
Maybe a bit of both? I might tan a little, but it goes away pretty quickly and I don't burn much either!

7) How do you wear your hair in the summer?
Ponytail or bun!

8) Favorite summer nail polish?
Color Club Aquamarine Azulino. It's a gorgeous metallic baby blue!

9) Would you rather spend a summer day outside in the pool or inside watching Netflix?
Outside all the way!

10) Sunglasses or hats?
Sunglasses

11) What is YOUR song of the summer?
Probably Summer by Calvin Harris or Tiptoe by Imagine Dragons, but I'm also digging Problem by Ariana Grande right now!

12) Do you have a summer bucket list? If so, share some things on that list?
No, I do not! But if I did, it would probably be to write some college essays, rehab my shoulder, go to the beach a ton, go hiking, go shopping, throw a party...

13) Bikinis, Tankinis, or One Pieces
Bikinis!

14) Must have summer makeup product?
A really good tinted lip balm with SPF in it! or a waterproof mascara!

15) What's your favorite thing about summer?
No school!!!

I would really love it if you guys answered these questions either on your blog or in the comments below and I tag all of you guys to do it!

Some Changes are Coming...

Hey guys!
So if you follow my other blog, you probably already know all of this, but I thought it was worth mentioning again. There are going to be some changes with this blog starting this week and going for around the next month or so. First off, the laptop that I've been using to blog this past year is a school issued one, so I have to return it this week. I'll still post off of my phone and my home desktop, but it'll be a tad less convenient. And probably the bigger deal is that I'm getting shoulder surgery next week wednesday (june 4), so I'm going to be unable to write posts for a while because my arm will be in a sling for around a month. I've pre-written around 5 posts already, but I'm going to try stock up on more posts before then for both this blog and my other one. If you want to know more about the surgery I'm going to have or the events leading up to it, you can click here because I wrote a whole post about that! I will try to stick to my Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule, but if that doesn't end up working out, I'll try to post at least twice a week. I know my readers are the greatest people in the world and that you guys don't care about schedules or how often I post and I am so grateful for that, but I thought that you guys should know what's going on!

Shoe Haul!

Hey guys!
I have a mini shoe haul for you guys today! I went to payless and they were having a sale, so I got these shoes for pretty cheap! I'm not quite sure how much they were individually, but together they were around $47. So here they are!

The first shoes that I got are a nice pair of everyday wedges! They aren't that tall (maybe 2.5 inches?) and they are nude with elastic straps. These are a nice pair of shoes for days when I have a fancier event, but I don't want to wear stilettos or really high shoes!

So the next pair of shoes that I got are black heels. I call these shoes 'boot-like' because from the front they look like booties with the covered foot, but they are actually heels with a strap in the back. These shoes are around 3.5 inches tall and the heel is wooden. I love these so much and they go with literally everything!

So those were the shoes that I got from Payless! I'm usually not a huge shoe person, so this is kind of a rare occurance and splurge for me! Let me know which shoes are your favorite in the comments below!

Sunglass Haul!

Hi guys!
So I broke my other pair of sunglasses the other day and I thought "I have to get a new one before summer!" So I went online to do some shopping :D I really wanted a mirrored pair of aviators because they look so cool and I've been seeing them a lot on tumblr! (You can see my tumblr here!) I decided to do my shopping on nordstrom.com for a variety of reasons, but the most important being that they have free 2 day shipping with any order (no minimum!)

So the first pair I got was a brown pair with yellow gold frames. They were $12 and are 60mm, so the lenses are quite large. I really like this as an everyday sunglasses because they are so versatile and will match everything! You can buy these exact ones here (they also have a silver one that looks fab)!

The other pair I got were my fun mirrored ones! It is a gold framed lens that reflects purple, green, or blue depending on the angle. These were also $12 and are 57 mm lenses so they are smaller than the other ones, but look just as good! You can purchase these here and there's also a yellow mirrored one that I want to get too!

So let me know what you think of these sunglasses in the comments below! Also, leave some suggestions for future posts too!

Orange Lips #BloggersDoItBetter

Hey guys!
This is topic 4 of the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge! The prompt for this post was "Bloggers Do Trends Better!" So I decided to focus my post on a really huge trend: bright, orange lips!

The two orange shades that I've been loving are Mango by Jordana and Vegas Volt from MAC.

Mango is the shade on the left and it's a really pretty tangerine orange with a gold frost to it. Vegas Volt is on the right and it's a deeper orange shade with a bit of red and pink into it. I would say that it's more orange than a typical coral, but does have some pink in it.

Mango is really easy to wear and it isn't too bright. I love the frost in it, but if you wanted to tone it down, you could apply a clear gloss (or a colored gloss) over the top to make it look less noticeable. This shade is a frost, so it'll accentuate any flakes on your lips, so make sure that they are really smooth and hydrated before applying!

Vegas Volt is a lot deeper and more red than Mango. It is an amplified finish so it is really creamy and smooth when applied. Other swatches of this shade that I've seen online make it look a lot more orange than coral, so I would swatch it in a MAC store before buying just to make sure you like it. Also, I think that this is a great orange shade for warmer complexions especially because it really brightens!

So those are my favorite orange lipsticks! I think that orange lips are going to be a huge trend this summer and these are my favorites although I know that the Maybelline Vivids line has some orange lipsticks too! Let me know what your favorite orange lipstick is and if you're loving or leaving this trend in the comments below!

Summer Hair Inspiration! #2014BloggerChallange

Hey guys!
Topic 10 of the 2014 Blogger Challenge was hair! I didn't really have a lot of time to take my own pictures and write a super detailed post because I was out filming a short movie earlier today (I'll post it on my other blog once it's up!) and I thought that it would be easy and appropriate to do a summer hair inspiration! All these pictures were taken from pintrest (like in all my inspiration posts) so let's get started!

I love the twists and braids in this updo, and I think that it would be great during the summer if you're going to a party or a backyard barbeque and you don't want to keep your hair down. I'm not quite sure if my hair is long enough to do it, but I will definitely try it out sometime this summer!

I love the waves, but more than that, I love the flower! I think that flower hair accessories are wonderful during the summer because they look super boho and chic! I think that this just looks really pretty and delicate, but you could also use a bright flower and go big and bold!

I love the volume and the effortless look of this hair! I hate when people spend lots of time curling their hair or straightening it during the summer because it seems so unnecessary! I think that a bit of sea salt spray would give great texture and volume like the girl in this photo has!

I love the color of this hair! It's slightly lighter and has a great balayage effect! I think that this type of hair is great for deeper brunettes or people with black hair because it's always nice to go lighter in the summer and this is really subtle, but still gives a nice brightening effect!

I love the messy look of Vanessa Hudgen's waves! It is so natural and effortless looking and I think that for all you short haired girls, this could be a really great look!

So I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what you're going to be doing with your hair this summer in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe for more #2014BloggerChallenge posts in the future!

Everyday Spring Makeup!

Hi guys!
So I have a mini tutorial type post for you today featuring my new favorite spring eye palette! I already did a post on this, which you can check out here. It was an extra from Clinique and is really pretty and amazing! These were the only shadows I've been using lately and were the only ones featured in this makeup look! Let's get started!

Face
So for my face makeup I used a new concealer I bought, the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (I'll review it soon) and set it with a Covergirl pressed powder. I lightly contoured with a Jouer bronzer and used theBalm Hot Mama Blush as a blush and highlighter. I also used MAC Espresso eyeshadow to fill in my brows.

Eyes
So this was the palette I used for my eyes! I first used Maybelline Barely Branded cream eyeshadow as a lid primer. Then I applied a sheer layer of the gold shade over the lid and I blended it upwards with the coral shade into and above the crease. I used the matte cream shade as a highlighter. To finish, I applied a brown liquid liner and a couple coats of mascara.

 Lips
In this picture, I have nothing on my lips except some lip balm! But if you wanted to recreate this, I would either go big and bold with a bright pink/coral or nude and neutral with a light pink or nude lipstick.

So that was my everyday spring makeup tutorial! I hope that you enjoyed this post and let me know what you think of it in the comments!

Lots and Lots of Samples!

Hey guys!
This is kind of a different post for me, but I recently put in a order at Macy's and I got a 10 pack of samples for free! I thought that I'd just share with you guys the samples I got because it'd be fun!

So I'm just going to list through these products and for the fragrances I'll tell you what I think of them!

So first The Porefessional from Benefit, then a Bronzer by tarte (don't know the name of this one) and a Laura Geller BB Cream. In the second row we have a Tan Towel, then a Origins GinZing moisturizer and a Clinique Foundation. The last row are the fragrances!

Juicy Couture Lala - Don't really like this one as much as some of the other Juicy Couture fragrances like Viva La Juicy.
Karl Lagerfield - Don't know if there's a name for this one, but I don't really like the scent of it. It's really musky and floral and I think it might be better for fall and winter than spring and summer.
Karl Lagerfield - This one's the men's one and I have to say I love the smell of it! Seriously, smell it if you can find it because it smells sooooo good even though I don't know what I'm going to do with this sample!
Prada Candy - LOVE this! Seriously one of my favorite fragrances of all time! Super sweet and girly and light and perfect!

So those were some samples I got! I hope you liked this post because I know it's very different from what I normally do! Leave me a comment below letting me know your thoughts on any of the samples I got!

Macy's Friends and Family Sale Haul!

Hey guys!
So recently Macy's had their friends and family sale, which is pretty much 25% off of everything and I got a few things... I didn't go crazy, but I got some really fun spring and summery items that I am so stoked to share with you!

So the first item I got was this pair of printed pants! It's super fun and really comfortable! I love how there are pockets on the front and there's an elastic waistband. The brand is BCX I think and it was originally 30 something dollars and I got it for 20 something. I'm so excited to style it and I promise to do an outfit of the day post with these pants when I wear them!

The next thing was a pair of printed shorts! Same type of fabric and feel as the first pants, but in a really pretty print! I'm also really excited to style this and I think I'm actually going to wear this tomorrow with a black tank. I'll do an outfit of the day post with this as well! Oh and I think that this was around $28 without the sale.

Lastly, I got this shirt! It's so flowy and cute! It has a v neck and back with a couple of strings running across the back. On the shoulder portions, there are lace panels that are really adorable! This shirt was $20 and I think it comes in more colors so I might go back and get more of these!

So these are the things that I got from the Macy's Friends and Family Sale! Let me know how you would style the printed pants in the comments because I'd love to hear your suggestions! I was thinking a fitted top with both of the pants, but I think that a flowy top could look really cool with the shorts too!

Let's Get Nude (Bloggers Do It Better)

Hi guys!
So today's makeup tutorial is on a "look like you're wearing no makeup when you're really wearing a shit ton" tutorial. It's my blog post for the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge because this week's topic was Bloggers Do Bright or Neutral Better. I obviously went with the neutral aspect of this topic. To see any of my previous posts for the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge, check out the "pages" section of the side bar.

Face
So I didn't want to use a foundation because I think that the coverage it gives can be really great, but foundation (in my opinion) never looks as natural as using a concealer. I used MAC pro longwear, which is one of the newer things that I've purchased. I used my Jouer bronzer as a contour, which I've reviewed here, and for blush I used my new theBalm sample of "Pie", which is a shade from their new cheek/lip palette. Reviews will be coming really soon of the concealer and blush!

Eyes
So although this is a more natural makeup look, I still went big and bold with the brows because I love the look of really nice brows. I used two of my eyeshadow shades in this palette and mixed them together as my brow powder. I used Sultry (the medium matte brown) and Sleek (a darker matte brown) from theBalm's Nude Tude Palette and mixed it to get something in the middle. For the actual eye look, I applied a thin layer of MAC Brulee all over the lid up to the browbone. This is just to prevent oiliness on the lid and just to make sure our eyes are even because they tend to look purplish depending on the veins. I used Brulee because it matches my skintone, but feel free to use whatever looks best on you. As my liner I used the same combo as I used on my brows and applied that in a thick layer to the upper lashline and lower lashline. I then used a Q tip to smudge it out and get it looking natural and faded.

Lips
I wanted to go really nude with the lips. First I used a Sephora lip liner (I'm not a huge fan of this liner so I'm not going to say the shade name) and I was going to leave it like that, but it looked weird and unnatural and made me look almost corpse like so I used my Kat Von D lipstick in Celebutard (I think?) and applied that over to get a more pink tone. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of either of these shades just because they don't look good with my skin tone, so use you're favorite nude lip combo!

So I hope you enjoyed this makeup tutorial! Let me know in the comments if you like my new blog layout (because I am really happy with it!) and if you have any good nude lip combos because I obviously really need to find a better one!

My New Favorite Summer Shadows?

Hey guys!
So this is going to be a super quick post because it's not really a review as much as a photos and sneak peek type post! I got this palette from my mom earlier today (I think it was a clinique freebie that she didn't want) and because it was a freebee, some of the shades aren't available for purchase. I wasn't going to do a post on this originally, because why review something that you guys can't buy, but I fell in love with these shades and I think that they're perfect for summer!

The shades in this palette are so gorgeous and I can just see myself wearing these a ton this spring and summer! I have the shade names for you, but as far as I know only two of them are permanent and available for purchase. From left to right, French Vanilla (permanent), Peach Pop (LE), At Dusk (permanent), and Olive in my Martini (LE).

These are the swatches of the shadows in case you were wondering. I'll give you my thoughts on the two permanent ones just in case you were debating buying them!
French Vanilla: Really super soft and creamy formula, which I totally love! It is a little sheer (it could also be because it's close to my skin tone) and it looks powdery if caked on (as do most mattes), but blends really well and the formula is fan-freaking-tastic!
At Dusk: Probably the shadow I was most excited about when I first saw the quad and I have to say it doesn't disappoint! It has a really smooth texture and has really great pigmentation! It is really metallic and so gorgeous!

So this was a different post, but I just had to share with you guys! Let me know if you have this quad or any of the shadows in it and what you think of it! Also, let me know if you want tutorials with any of these shades (I'm thinking one with the coral and another with the gold?)

Music!!! (2014BloggerChallenge)

Hi guys!
This is my topic 9 post of the 2014 Bloggers Challenge! I normally do music posts on my other blog, which I'll link here for you, but because the topic of this post is music, I'm going to do it on this blog instead!
I love, love, love, music and I have a playlist on spotify that I've really been loving! Some of my favorite songs on that playlist are Find You, Summertime on My Mind, and Counting Stars, but they are all really amazing! Music is amazing for beauty too, because for me at least, it makes me want to dance, which clears out your lymph system and makes your skin glow! I update this playlist really often so if you have a spotify account, follow my playlist so you can access it whenever!
