8th Liebster Award?

Hey guys!
Omg I have been nominated for my 8th liebster award! How amazing is that?!?! So I am going to do an abbreviated version of the liebster award post because honestly, I think I'm running out of facts about me to tell you all! So in this post I'll just do the questions I got from the lovely Beverly from Tutus and Ballet Slippers! I won't tag any specific people because I kind of ran out of people to tag a few awards ago, but if you'd like to do this, I'll leave some questions for you at the end of the post!

1) Where were you born?
In Hawaii

2) What song do you listen to, to cheer yourself up?
Lately I've been loving Counting Stars by One Republic

3) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
As a senior in college :)

4) Why did you start blogging?
Because I was learning so much from bloggers and youtubers and I wanted to share some of my own tips and tricks with the world!

5) If you were a biscuit, what biscuit would you be?
Well Beverly is from England so I think that biscuit means cookie there (I could totally be wrong, though) so if it's asking what type of cookie I'd be, I would be a chocolate chip cookie!

6) Name one thing that puts a smile on your face?
My baby sister! She's 6 years old

7) What is the worst book you've ever read?
I didn't particularly like Jazz by Toni Morrison. I thought that it was really confusing, but I think I'll try it again in a couple months and see if I can understand it.

8) What is your favorite flavor ice cream?
Green Tea or Mint Chocolate Chip

9) If you had enough money, what would be the one thing you'd buy right now?
A bigger house

10) Do you have any role models? If so, who?
My biggest role model is my dad. He grew up with a lot of family problems and his parents didn't really help him much with college or anything like that, so he had to work for everything that he has in his life. Although I'm much more fortunate than that, I still feel like I want to work for what I get instead of having it handed to me.

11) When was the last time you cried?
Maybe 2 days ago! I don't exactly know why, but I am a huge crier so I literally cry all the time.

Thanks to Beverly for nominating me! If you'd like to do a liebster award post, I nominate you! Just answer the 11 questions at the bottom of this post! I hope you enjoyed this post and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin!

My 11 Questions for you!
1) Favorite Season?
2) Do you have a hobby besides blogging? What is it?
3) Do you go bold with your makeup or neutral during the day?
4) Favorite television show?
5) Best movie you've ever watched?
6) Favorite movie genre?
7) What magazines do you subscribe to?
8) Favorite social media site?
9) How often do you blog?
10) Favorite youtuber?
11) Favorite blogger?

Copper Makeup of the Day

Hey guys!
This makeup of the day is literally like 90% of all of my makeup of the day posts, but I thought why not do another one? So here it is!

I used my bobbi brown concealer to cover some of the redness and blemishes (obviously not all of them!) then I used MAC Espresso (a deep matte brown powder) to fill in my brows and a Physicians formula pressed powder to set my face. I believe that I also used MAC Immortal flower blush (a pretty peachy pink color!) on my cheeks!

I took a shimmery copper eye shadow and patted it all over my lid (mines is from Physicians Formula). Then I took MAC Woodwinked (a lighter antiqued gold) and used that to blend out the copper eye shadow. It also left a nice warmth around the crease area, which I love! Then I took MAC Brulee (a matte cream) under the brow to highlight! I used a black liquid liner on the upper lashes and a pencil liner to tightline (upper waterline) as well as line the lower water line. My mascara today is Covergirl Flamed Out, which is one of my favorite mascaras of the moment!

I was actually eating breakfast when I snapped these pics, so I'm not wearing anything in the pictures, but I used my Artistry Lipgloss in Glitz (a shimmery rosy pink) on my lips!

This was actually the makeup look that I wore on valentine's day! If you want to see the outfit I'm wearing it'll either be the post right before this or after this! Let me know in the comments what you're go to makeup look is because this one is definitely mine! Also, follow me on bloglovin!

Nail of the Day: Edgy Confetti!

Hi guys!
I have another nail of the day post for you! I have been obsessed with doing my nails and I guess that's one upside of not being able to cheer any more! So today I have a really cool nail of the day post! I did this for Valentines day and it is so stunning in person! The pictures don't do it justice at all, but it's all I got!

So I used a slate gray nail polish! Mine had some shimmer in it and it ended up having sort of a brushed metal finish if that makes any sense. I used Color Club Dark N Stormy. Over the top I used a glitter top coat. Mines had small pink shimmer and larger hexagonal purple glitter. I did two coats over the top of the gray shade. The polish I used was China Glaze Be Merry, Be Bright.

Like I said in the beginning, the picture doesn't even do justice to this nail look! The light reflects off of the glitter and the shimmer in the polish and makes it look magical and amazing! I can't even begin to describe how pretty it looks! Let me know in the comments what you're favorite nail polish combinations are and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin!

Dress Haul

Hey guys!
So this is probably the smallest haul that I've ever done, but that's okay! Its just two dresses that I got recently that I wanted to share with you! I've been obsessed with dresses, which is odd because I have no where to wear fancy dresses, but I've been buying a ton of them! So let's get started!

This first dress is from Forever 21. It is a gorgeous deep teal color, which I absolutley love! They had this dress in a royal blue color too, but I thought that this teal color was more unique and different so I got it! It is a body con with long sleeves and there is a criss cross in the back. It was only $9 and it was a total steal! I absolutely love this dress!

The second dress I got is my favorite! I have a dinner and dance for school in a couple weeks and this is the dress that I'm going to wear to it! It is really different because it is a black body con with off center white stripes. It is super pretty on and its nice because the off center stripes make it super slimming and flattering! This was from a boutique near where I live, so I don't know where you can get it, but it was from the store LBD&B. This dress was around $30.

So that was my mini dress haul! I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions for future posts!

Valentine's Day Outfit of the Day

Hi guys!
I just wanted to do a quick outfit of the day for you today! The picture is pretty crappy, I know, but I absolutely loved this outfit and mirror selfies were the only pictures that I had! But that's okay, right?

I wore a basic white cami. Not very interesting, but I thought that it might get warm later in the day, so I wanted to wear a tank top. Then over it I added a cardigan that is cream and red. This was my "red" piece because since it's valentines day, you must have something red in you're outfit! I really love this cardigan thing and it's probably one of my more worn items!

This skirt was from a boutique! You might have seen it in a recent haul that I did (I'll link it here)! Its just a tan maxi skirt with a very high slit. I think that you're supposed to wear it with the slit in front, but that seemed like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen so I wore it with the slit on the side. The slit also went all the way to the top (with a mini skirt length liner underneath) but the liner kept riding up when I was walking so I safety pinned it so the opening was a little lower. I don't really know if this made sense or not, but I hope it did!

I didn't wear any jewelry with this, but I did a really pretty gold/copper makeup look that will be in a makeup of the day post soon! I am pre-writing this so I don't know the exact order of the posts, but the makeup of the day one should either be the one directly before this or the one right after it if that helps!

I hope you enjoyed this post! I'll try to do more outfit of the day posts because I love them and I think they are so fun to write! Let me know in the comments what you wore for Valentine's day!

Amazing Youtube Hair Guru!

Hey lovelies!
So this is a bit of a different post, but I recently found an amazing hair guru on youtube and I wanted to share! It is Silvia from ElleBangs.

She is a hair stylist that works out of San Francisco and she posts the most in depth and easy to follow tutorials on how to dye hair an cut hair and all that jazz. It is so informative and useful and if you are even dreaming about coloring your hair, you should totally check out her channel because it has everything that you would ever need to know about dying and cutting.

I think that its really hard to find good credible hair gurus on youtube because the main "gurus" are predominatnly beauty, makeup, and fashion based and I rarely find a good "hair based" one. I think that you should check out her channel and subscribe because she deserves all the followers she can get!

Let me know in the comments if you know of any other good "hair gurus" on youtube because I'd love to check them out and don't forget to follow this blog for more posts every monday, wednesday, friday, and sunday!

Nail Of The Day: Sinful Color's Rise and Shine (940)

Hi everyone!
So I am doing another nail of the day post! I am super excited because I'm doing it on one of my favorite nail polish shades of all time! It's from Sinful Colors and it's in the shade Rise and Shine. I may or may not have done a review on this (I can't remember!) so I'll do a quick mini review in this post!

So the polish on my nails are a little chipped because I've had it on for 5 days, but it's not bad! The color is a emerald green with a little bit of blue. It's a little more emerald than in the picture, but there is still a little bit of blue in it. It's a very unique color and I can't really describe it! The finish is amazing too! It is a satin finish polish so it isn't naturally very matte or shiny, it's somewhere in between, but it has fine gold microshimmer so it reflects the light beautifully. I used 2 coats of nail polish in the pictures and it is opaque. There is light brush strokes, but it's just because of the polish's finish and will be diminished if you use a shiny top coat! As you can see, I am in love with this shade and I would totally recommend it!

Let me know in the comments if you've used this shade or if you have any polish recommendations! Also, follow me on bloglovin!

Splurge Or Save? #2014bloggerchallenge

Hi guys!
So I want to start off by saying that this is not exactly following the prompt for this post. Gabby wanted us to write posts about dupes and high end vs drugstore products, which was really hard for me! I kept tweeting how I oculdn't find new dupes that I hadn't already shared with you all, so I decided to do something a little different! I'm doing a splurge or save post!

This post isn't to tell you that you shouldn't spend money on one thing, but I have some things that I splurge on and save on and I wanted to share them with you! I have reasons for all of these that I'm not going to include in this post because it would be hella long if I did, but if you have any questions about why a certain item is in a certain place, leave it in a comment and I'll get back to you!

So I hope this post was useful for you! If you have any post suggestions leave it in the comments below, and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin if you haven't already!

Bronze Goddess Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone!
So I am doing a really quick tutorial on a makeup look I've been wearing a lot recently! It is super quick and easy and makes for a great everyday makeup look!

I did the usual foundation and concealer that I do. I'll do a updated foundation routine soon, I promise! But the ones that I've been using lately have been the Maybelline fit me foundation and the bobbi brown creamy concealer. Then I lightly contoured with a mineral bronzer from the Body Shop. I contoured the cheeks, jawline, and temples. I then took a light apricot blush on the apples of my cheeks sweeping back towards the temples and up towards the brows (in a bit of a "C" shape).

This look is so simple and easy! I used the same bronzer that I used on my face and sweeped it all across the lid up into the crease gently blending. Then I filled in my brows with MAC espresso shadow. I finished with a little bit of brown liquid liner on the upper lashline and a black pencil liner on the lower waterline. Don't forget the mascara! I used Benefit's They're Real!

I went with a neutral pink shade for my lips! I actually mixed two OCC liptars (memento and anime) to get this shade, but if you wanted to use a lipstick, just go for a medium pink cream formula!

So how easy was this look? You can totally switch up the liner and lips to make it more dramatic (black winged liner and red lips will make it so glam!) or you can keep it neutral and simple like I did! Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments and subscribe for more tutorials!

Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder

Hi guys!
So I'm doing one of those "inner beauty" type posts today, which I don't do enough of on this blog! But that all changes now! I have no freaking clue what I'm writing about because it is 10:00 at night and I'm wearing a clay mask and listening to spotify, but this is important so I'm going to do it!

Well first, I'm sure all of you that follow my other blog know all about my obsession with The Twilight Zone. Yes, I'm talking about that really old black and white show. No, I'm not talking about the ride at disneyland. Well there is an episode called Eye of the Beholder that is fan-freaking-tastic! It is so insightful and it really makes you rethink what it means to be "beautiful" I won't talk about it more because it might ruin the twist, but you should totally check it out (Hulu has it for free!). But it makes you think, what is beauty?

Beauty isn't tangible. It isn't something that you can obtain and hold, inject, apply, remove, or squeeze. Is it a feeling? Is it synonymous to confidence? When you feel so good about yourself that you can't help but smile, is that what beauty is? Or is it when you feel like crap, but have other people complimenting you like you are a princess. Is beauty something that we must find for ourselves, within ourselves, or is it something that others define. Can we say that we are beautiful or is that something that others have to designate for us. When someone says that they are beautiful, it sounds pretentious. It sounds like they are overly confident and kind of a bitch, but at the same time, when someone else says that we're beautiful, we beam with joy, but hide it because we're expected to be modest. What kind of society is this, where we can't choose to call ourselves beautiful, but have others decide whether we're worthy for that title?

I think that beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder. I choose to believe that I am a beautiful person. Sure, this sounds pretentious, conceited, and bitchy, but at the end of the day, what makes me happy is knowing that I am the best, most beautiful and confident person that I can be. So what if others don't think I'm attractive? I do, and that's all that matters in the end! I just want to challenge you guys to think about what beauty is. I choose to believe that each and every one of you reading this post is beautiful, and I hope that you believe you're beautiful as well :)

Well that post got really intense really quickly, but I hope you enjoyed reading this! Let me know what you're thoughts on "beauty" is in the comments below and don't forget to follow this blog!

Decor Haul?

Hi guys!
I am super excited for this post because I normally don't do much decor or home type posts, but I really wanted to do this one to show off some things I have! I'm not quite sure what to call this post because a haul usually implies something bought, but I made all of these things!

I am taking a glass blowing class at my school and I have been loving to play around with colors and shapes and textures with paperweights and I think that they can be really great decor! On a desk, they can look amazing, but I also love putting these ones in particular near windows because the light reflects really pretty off of them! So that first picture is a blue spotted interior with a brown spotted exterior, which I love! I think that the royal blue looks really pretty in light!

This next ones kind of different. It has smaller bubbles than the first one and a multicolored interior with a clear exterior. I think that this one would look really cool if you have mostly neutrals on your desk, but if you have a specific color scheme it looks kind of funny! But I still love the difference in opacity in this one.

This last one is actually my favorite! It has some really huge bubbles near the surface of the glass, which I think look really cool! It has a larger interior than exterior with green, blue, and brown on the inside with just a small layer of clear on the outside!

So this whole post was pretty much me bragging, but I love what I made and I wanted to share it with you!

How To: Style Printed Jeans

Hey everyone!
So I am so excited for this post because I have noticed that a lot more brands are making printed jeans! I picked up a pair from a boutique the other day and I've had lots of fun styling it. In this post, I'll show you how I like to style printed jeans!

So it's kind of hard to see the print on the jeans in this picture, but there is a black tribal print over dark blue jeans. I paired it with a black cami and a gray jacket!
*Note: I just added a picture of the jeans I'm wearing in this pic below so you can see it!

My top 3 tips to style printed jeans:
1) Pair it with neutrals
I think that neutrals like gray, white, black, or nude are great with printed jeans because they don't draw away focus from the jeans, which should be the "main attraction"
2) Pair it with simple tops
By "simple" I mean like normal tanks, v necks, t-shirts. If you pair it with tops with beads or sequins it can get a little too busy. Simple tops with clean necklines look great with printed jeans and help to keep the focus on the jeans instead of the top.
3) Use shoes and jewelry to dress it up or down
You can wear printed jeans with vans or flats to dress it down, or with heels and wedges to dress it up! You can also wear a simple cuff bracelet and a small necklace to dress it down, or dangle earrings and statement pieces to dress it up!

So I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have your own tips for styling printed jeans, let me know what they are in the comments! Also, enter my 100 subscriber giveaway if you'd like to win MAC products here!

Nail Of The Day + Mini Review: Yellow Confetti!

Hi guys!
It has been literally forever since I've done a Nail Of the Day post! But now that cheerleading is over, I get to grow out my nails and paint them! I got this nail polish as a gift for Christmas and it's from the Face Shop. This is Korean Brand, so I don't think they sell this on the continental US (just a Hawaii thing) so I'll do a very quick review! Also, I found similar polishes from the Face Shop on amazon, but not this exact shade, if you'd like to check them out! FYI the shade I have is Lemon Yogurt Candy.

So this shade is a pastel yellow with green, gold, and copper hexagonal glitter and green fine glitter. It is more of a jelly type finish, so it's not fully opaque. I did three coats for reference in the picture.

The glitter is distributed mostly even, but you have to tug at a few pieces to get them in the right spot. There is a lot of glitter in this! Which I love, because you don't have to go digging for the glitter! It is a tad bit streaky, but I feel like that's just the nature of this shade in general.

I have worn it for 6 days and I have tip wear, but no major chipping, which is wonderful because I've been using my hands for a lot! Overall, if you can find The Face Shop Nail polishes, I totally recommend them!

So I found a few on amazon, like I mentioned so here they are:
Clear with white bar and hexagonal glitter and blue, yellow, and red hexagonal glitter ($1.20)
Clear with pink, red, blue, multi sized glitter (hexagonal, small, and medium sized glitter) ($1.20)

I hope you enjoyed this post, and if you want me to do more Nail of The Day posts, I'll be glad to do them! Let me know if you have a face shop near you or if you've tried their products in the comments!

Whooo! My 7th Liebster Award!

Hey guys!
So this is my 6th liebster award, which is absolutely crazy to me! I'm sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don't, I have to answer some questions and leave some questions for my nominees! Let's get started!

1) Why did you start blogging?
I was bored and I felt like I was learning a lot about makeup from the online beauty community, but at the same time, I felt like I could contribute a lot as well!

2) Favorite thing about blogging?
Definitely meeting and connecting with people that have common interests! Especially twitter and bloglovin has helped so much!

3) If there were only 3 beauty/fashion items you could take with you to a desert island, what would they be?
A floppy hat to shield me from the sun, sunglasses, and a bright lipstick!

4) Your favorite summer and winter lip shade?
My favorite summer shade is a medium, bright pink (maybelline vivid rose is a good one) and my favorite winter shade is a bright true red (Mirenesse flirty kiss is another really good one!)

5) Favorite high end beauty brand?
Mac for sure! Oh and speaking of MAC, don't forget to enter my MAC giveaway here!

6) Favorite high street fashion store and why?
I love department stores and Macys would have to be my favorite! They have such great sales sometimes and I love finding good deals there!

7) Favorite hairstyle?
Big, bombshell curls. But I usually wear ponytails and buns!

8) Favorite dupe of the moment?
Sorry, but I don't really have a great one right now!

9) Spring/Summer essential?
A bright pink lip color! I love rocking the pink lips in the spring and summer!

So a huge shoutout and thank you to Ellie! I'll link her blog here because it is fabulous and is one of my personal favorites! I won't tag people because after liebster award 3 I kind of ran out :P but I'll create a few questions and if you could leave them in a comment, it would totally make my day!

My questions for y'all!
1) Do you prefer beauty blogs or youtube channels?
2) Favorite beauty guru?
3) Favorite types of posts to read and write?
4) What do you order from Jamba Juice?
5) What 3 products (beauty) can you not live without?

Mini Clothing Haul

Hey everyone!
So I put a poll in the side bar (which you should totally do!) and I saw that a lot of you guys want more hauls, so I have a mini clothing haul for you! But by mini, I mean mini. I only have two items to share with you guys today, but I am super excited to show you guys both of them! I got them from a boutique in a mall in my area, so I don't know where you can get these exact items, but I'm sure you can get something similar!

The first item that I got is a really cool pair of jeans. They were originally $39, but I got them for $19.50, which is 50% off! They are a basic pair of dark jeans, but they have a really cool tribal overlay. The overlay is a velvet type material, so it is textured and really cool! I have been loving patterned jeans, but this takes it to a whole new level because instead of paint, it's another fabric over the top of it! I will totally do a "how to style" post on this because I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing this a lot!

This next item is a jersey maxi skirt. It is actually one of the only maxi skirts that fits me correctly because I am very short, so most of them drag on the ground. This maxi skirt is also amazing because it is draped and has a slit. It also has a lining underneath that goes to mid thigh so you're not going to accidentally reveal something that you don't want to. This skirt was originally $26, but I got it for $13. I love how drapey and flowy this skirt is and how it actually fits me without being too long.

So that was my mini clothing haul! Make sure to subscribe to this blog because I'm sure that I will do outfit of the days and fashion posts with these items in it! Let me know what other posts you'd like to see more of in the comments or poll in the side bar

Outfit of the Day: Comfy Clothes!

Hey guys!

So it's been a while since I've done an outfit of the day post, so I thought I'd do it now! I've actually been wearing this exact outfit a lot lately and it has quickly become one of my favorites!

It is really simple and comfortable and looks really cute on too! The top is a long sleeve shirt from Aeropostale. I know that you can't see it in the picture, but on the back of the sleeves where the elbows are, there are white hearts! It's really simple, but it looks really cute on! A trick that I've learned with these tops is to buy them a size or two big (I got a medium instead of a small) because the looser they are, the cuter they look! The shorts are mint green and they are from Celebrity Pink (you can get them from Macy's). I love having a pop of color and these shorts are really cute! You can also wear this top with ripped jeans and it'll look great too!

Also, my makeup in this picture is going to be in a tutorial soon, so keep a look out for that!

Book Beauty (2014 Blogger Challenge)

Hey girls!
The theme for this week's 2014 Blogger Challenge is books. This is pretty open ended, but we had to incorporate a book into our posts! I wanted to seize this moment and talk about something that I don't, but should, talk about on this blog: inner beauty. If you aren't really interested in this topic, you can totally leave this post and check out another! I recently did a foundation review and I have a giveaway that you can check out here and here. So let's get started!

At my school, we get to choose the english classes that we take, sort of like how you choose classes in college, even though I am still in High School. The course that I took last semester was a Jazz Literature class and I don't say this ever, but that class was life changing. Two of the books that we read in that class, I'm going to be discussing with you all today! They were The Great Gatsby and The Sun Also Rises. I highly recommend reading both books because they are great works of literature. I actually think that these books tie in with the idea of inner beauty.

The Great Gatsby
Something that I took away after reading this book is "Choose What Makes You Happy." This ties into inner beauty because you can't truly look happy, unless you are happy. This book has a love triangle between Gatsby, Daisy, and Tom. Although you can argue that neither Gatsby nor Tom truly made Daisy happy, the idea of choosing the things and people that make you happy is present in the book.

The Sun Also Rises
I believe that the strongest character in this book is Brett. She is the female equivalent of a player and uses guys. I think that inner beauty is strongly attached to inner strength as well. In this day and age, I still feel like there is a divide between how women want to be treated and how they are. Between how we want to act and how we do act. And I want this to stop. I think that women are starting to show their inner confidence and strength, but happiness comes when you are in control. When you can stand your ground with confidence and poise, you are truly beautiful and Brett is a great example of this.

So this was my first (and probably last) book post for this blog! I might start doing more book posts on my other blog, so follow that blog as well if you'd like to see those types of posts! Thank you so much for reading this slightly lengthy post and remember that beauty starts with you!
