We're Renamed!

Hey everyone!
I promise to keep this post short and sweet, but I just wanted to address the fact that we are no longer called livelovemakeup14 and are instead I made this change because the old name was difficult to remember and it didn't fit what my blog is, which I now realize is showing makeup and fashion geared towards the chic, modern, girl. I hope that you continue to support this blog as we try to improve and grow!

LAQA & CO Lil' Lip Review

Hey everyone!
I have a review on a product that I got in my June Birchbox. It is the LAQA & CO Lil' Lip. It is a jumbo lip pencil (I guess this is a "big thing" now) and let me just start by saying that I have very limited information about this and I do not know the shade (it doesn't say it anywhere on the packaging!) and I do not know if this is full sized or not. But despite that, let's get started!

The packaging looks like a pencil and it comes with a clear lid, which is great because it allows you to see the shade without opening it! This is a twist up product, which is good because it minimizes sharpening, but is also bad because it will get dull and the tip will make it less precise. It has no noticeable scent and taste.

The shade itself (sorry, I don't know the name) is a blue based medium pink. It is bright and vibrant and a good thing about a shade like this, is that it will make your teeth look brighter (because of the strong blue undertones). It is pretty opaque and the swatch shown is one swipe.

When applied, it has a smooth, creamy texture that feels very comfortable. It is also slightly moisturizing, although it is not marketed as a moisturizing product. It applies with a bit of shine and glossyness, but once that wears down, your left with the pigment. This shade stains a little bit after you've worn it for a few hours. It has good staying power and although you'll need to reapply after eating, it'll last for a good 4-5 hours.

Overall, I would recommend this product if you are looking for a jumbo lip pencil. But keep in mind that this is a higher end product and you can probably find a dupe for this shade (either in a lip pencil or in a lipstick) at your local drugstore if you don't want to spend the money.
Hope this review was helpful!

EOS lip balm review

Hey everyone!
For the past few months, I've been using my EOS lip balms in a lot of my tutorials and videos, but I realized that I haven't done a review on it yet! So that's what I'm going to do in this post.

Let's start with that packaging. It's adorable because it looks like an egg, with different colored outsides to match the "flavor" of it. (Green is honeydew honeysuckle, blue is mint, and pink is strawberry). Although the packaging is cute, it isn't practical. It is a little bit bulky so it doesn't fit into pockets comfortably and it also is really egg shaped so it can take up a bit of space in small clutches.

The actual lip balm feels really nice on. It's solid and it goes on smoothly, but doesn't feel overly slick or slippery like some other lip balms can. It's not very heavy duty, but it wears a decent amount of time and is lightly hydrating. If you are looking for a more moisturizing lip balm, this may not be it. The different lip balms have scents that match the name and also have a slight flavor. The sweet mint lip balm (the blue one) has a tingling feeling when applied due to the menthol from the mint. Overall, I think this is a great lip balm for someone who needs a little bit of moisture and hydration.

Some other things about these lip balms are the outside feels a little bit rubberized so in the picture, the blue and green look dirty because I kept them in a pencil case in my bag and the pencil lead marked them. Another thing is that they can melt because I kept my blue one in the car and the top facing portion got melted. These lip balms are not fully filled with actual lip balm because it's actually a semi-dome shape that extends a little bit under the lip of the bottom portion of the packaging. And lastly, it can get difficult to use once it gets flat across (like my green one) so I will find a way to depot it and do a tutorial on it soon.

So I hope this review was useful for you guys and if you have a favorite lip balm, let me know what it is in the comments below! Also, follow this blog for reviews, tutorials, and everything else!

Hey everyone!
Can this unboxing post seriously  be any later! I filmed this video around a week ago, but I haven't posted it until now, which is awkward because it's almost July! Anyways, here is my june birchbox unboxing!

I think that this was a great birchbox this month, and I really liked it and felt like I got my moneys worth out of it. If you get another subscription box, like ipsy or glossy box, let me know what you think of it. Suki Face Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser Review

Hey guys!
I got a sample size of the suki face exfoliate foaming cleanser in a birchbox andI thought that I would do a review of it. Keep in mind that in the pictures, it'll look a lot smaller than the full size because its pictures of a sample size. So here are my thoughts on it.

First off, it says that it has lemongrass extract and natural sugar. I don't think that the lemongrass has any properties that help the skin and I think that the only reason that it is included is for the scent. I could be wrong, though, so if I am, please correct me. The scent is really lemony when you smell it in the jar, but when you apply it, it has more of the herbal lemongrass scent. This scent does linger on your skin for a while after you use it, so if this is a scent that is irritating to you, I would suggest skipping this product. The scrub is made of natural sugar and that is the actual exfoliant. I really like this because after you work it into your skin, it starts to dissolve. This prevents you from over exfoliating your skin, but at the same time, if you need more exfoliation, you're going to have to use more product. When you work it into your skin, it turns into a creamy consistency. This product is marketed as a cleanser and I think that it is an okay cleanser. When I use it, it feels like it cleans my skin, but doesn't strip it of moisture or anything like that. With that being said, I prefer cleansers that foam or that you can feel working and I don't think that this is the best cleanser because its difficult to work into your skin when its the creamy consistency.

Overall, I think that there are better facial scrubs out there, but if you have money to spare and you think you're going to enjoy the lemongrass scent, then this may work better for you than it did for me. Let me know if you've tried this and your thoughts on this in the comments below!

Ariana Grande Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone!
I decided to do another celeb inspired makeup tutorial. I already did Ashley Benson so if you didn't see that, I'll link it here. But today I decided to do Ariana Grande because "The Way" has been my favorite song recently and I think she always looks beautiful. Keep in mind this is just my interpretation of her makeup and it isn't her exact makeup, but I think that it's pretty close. So here it is!

So if you liked this tutorial, give it a thumbs up and follow my blog for more celeb inspired makeup tutorials. Also, let me know what other celebs you'd like makeup tutorials on!
See you in my next post!

We Got a Makeover!

Hey guys!
As you may have noticed, I changed the blog layout today. I thought the other one was nice, but too bright and I wanted to switch it to a girly, pretty, one. So if you like this new layout and background, let me know in the comments below! I'll also be switching the layout on my other blog (I'll link it here) so if you have any ideas or suggestions for that, let me know!

Makeup of the Day: Neutral eyes with a pop of pink

Hey beach babes!
How's your summer going? Soaking up some rays? Well, where I am, it's been really overcast and rainy, which isn't the best weather for hitting the beach, but that's okay because its given me some time to experiment with my makeup! So I have a makeup of the day post for you today. Its super easy and pretty and I think its great because it doesn't take much time, but it still looks like you could have spent a while on it. So let's get started!

Face: I have zero face makeup on! I have cheerleading later and I didn't want it clogging my pores. Also, I've been breaking out so I want to give my face a little break from makeup.

Eyes: I filled in my brows using MAC Espresso eyeshadow (a matte deep brown) and an angled brush (MAC 263). I also primed my eyes and used a medium sparkly brown shadow all over the eye lid and blended it up into the crease. The shadow I used was from the wet n wild comfort zone palette. I then took a really soft eyeliner (Jordana easyliner in black) and smudged it on the outer portion of my upper and lower lashlines. I also took a q tip and helped blend it out. I finished with a coat of covergirl lashblast mascara!

Lips: I got a LAQA Lil Lip thing in my birchbox so I used that as my pop of pink on my lips. Its a really pretty medium pink shade, and if you don't have that exact one and you want similar ones, wet n wild nouveau pink is a little lighter and cooler toned and maybelline vivid rose (I'll link a review of it here) is comparable, but a little darker.

So that was my makeup of the day! If you liked it, follow my blog and don't forget to leave a comment below if you have any blog post or video suggestions!

Father's Day Gift Guide

Hey everyone!
So I did a mother's day gift guide a few months ago (I'll link it here) and I thought that it would be a good idea to do one for father's day as well because it is this sunday (5/16)! I didn't cover everything and I focused mostly on the types of dads that I know of (techy, chef, sporty). I hope that this is useful!

If there are any other gift ideas that I didn't mention, leave it in a comment below to help other people! Also, leave video or post suggestions in the comments and don't forget to give the video a thumbs up! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Cool and Warm Face of the Day

Hey everyone!
So it's been a while since I've done a makeup or face of the day post, but I did a really pretty eye makeup look today that got a few compliments and I thought it was different enough from the usual neutral eye that it warranted a post! So here is my cool + warm makeup of the day!

Face: I didn't do anything with my face today. Not even blush or highlighter! I totally would recommend going with a cooler toned pink with a bronzer or a peach blush with no bronzer. Also, do foundation or concealer or whatever face makeup you'd like.

Eyes: This eye makeup is a cool silver/grey lid and crease with a bit of a cranberry above it. I used a light silver with a lot of shimmer all over the lid. Mine had a lot of fallout so I used a primer, but I don't think that's necessary. I then went to my wet n wild comfort zone palette and used the dark black/brown shade with gold shimmer and applied that to my outer V. I blended out the crease and then took a burgundy shade (the duochrome in the comfort zone palette) and applied that right above my natural crease. This added warmth to contrast the cooler toned lid. I then used a light shimmery yellow tinged cream shade as a highlight. You could go with a pinker toned highlight as well. I smudged some of the dark brown/black shadow under the lower lashlines and applied a liquid liner (black) to the upper lashline. I then used 2 coats of my clinique high impact mascara. For a review of that mascara, click here

Lips: I applied a lip balm and used my sheer lipstick technique (you can read more about it here) to sheer out my jordana mango lipstick. Its a really nice medium orange neutral. I would recommend going with a natural color (not too nude or bright) and going with a warm toned shade (peach versus barbie pink)

So I hope that you enjoyed this makeup/face of the day! If you did, let me know in the comments and don't forget to follow this blog for new upcoming posts!

Clinique High Impact Mascara Review

Hey everyone!
I have another review for you today, on a product that I've been using for the last couple of months and in most of my recent tutorials! It's the clinique high impact mascara! I have the travel/trial size ones of these that you can get in sets or as free gifts with purchases, but its the exact same formula and brush as the bigger one. So here are my thoughts on it!

Let me know your thoughts on this mascara and any other clinique mascaras in the comments below! I'd also like some video or post suggestions, so also feel free to leave that as well! I hope this review was helpful and I'll talk to you guys soon!

Favorite summer nail polishes!

Hey everyone!
So like I mentioned in my last post, I'm not going to be blogging every day because my computer is old and slow and I don't think that I'm going to be able to and I don't want to tell you I will, and then not. So instead, I am going to try and post 4 times a week, but if I do more or less, hopefully that's okay too! So today's post is on my favorite summer nail polishes! I think that I did a video on my favorite spring polishes (if I'm not mistaken) and I thought it would be fun to show you my favorite summer polishes! So here it is.

So I hope you enjoyed that video! If you did, give the video a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe to my blog if you'd like to! Also, let me know in the comments what your favorite spring nail polishes are because I'd love to purchase a few of them.
See you in my next post!
